Masks made easy 👌 If anyone wants to avoid catching COVID, a reliable mask is the way to go!!!!

If you use surgical or cloth mask, please consider upgrading to N95/P2/KF94/KN95 respirator mask as their fit, filtration material, & electrostatic charge make a *massive* difference.

These can be reused until broken/dirty/loose; AT LEAST 40 hours. Hence, they are excellent, cost effective protection!

✨Why do you keep talking about COVID?✨

COVID-19 is the 3rd leading cause of death in both Australia and USA. Any COVID infection can lead to long term health problems like cognitive impairment and organ damage. Even in vaccinated people, young people, and infections that felt 'mild'!

1 in 5 to 10 infections lead to Long Covid, and people are already being infected 2-3+ times.

Proper masking is one of the most effective ways to prevent spread; it is a small act that makes a huge difference. When two people wear masks, it's more effective than when only one person masks.

People are dying every day, causing grief and trauma in affected families. Without risk mitigation, society has also become even more inaccessible to elderly people and people with disabilities. When people get health problems and disability from COVID, they may not be able to work, they will need medical care which may be complicated and costly, and even face discrimination in healthcare if they're already marginalised (women, people of colour, language barriers, older age, having disability, LGBTQ+, non-citizen, etc).

COVID-19 is a social justice and human rights issue. Collective effort in reducing the spread of the pandemic is central to equality. And for the people who want to protect themselves, you deserve to have information and resources that help. by @covidsafevic

Handed out a few masks at the march across Harbour Bridge for Palestine yesterday 🇵🇸

CO2 was around 700-800ppm in the crowd, which is decent 👍 (But not risk-free of course!)

Also sorry, I'm inactive on socials these days due to life things 😮‍💨

Summary: Our first COVIDing resource distribution project in December 2023 😃

Thanks to generous donations, we distributed over 250 masks and 40 RATs to people living in the Ultimo-Pyrmont area (on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation) 🙌

With the help of amazing volunteers and input from OzSAGE, we also created and distributed stacks of our COVID Survival Guide brochures, which were available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

The project was intended for people with low or no income and 'at-risk' groups. The purpose was to equip them with knowledge and resources to keep safer in this pandemic, particularly in preparation for the December-January holiday period when the JN.1 COVID wave was expected 🌊

With the help of donations, I provided masks and RATs alongside an existing Christmas hamper program at a community centre which provided for people in the community, a nursing home, and a women's refuge.

For some people, I assisted them by matching masks to their faces and I had one-on-one conversations about COVID with them. Most people were quite receptive to hearing more about COVID and talking about it 😍

A volunteer and I also co-facilitated an online information session on COVID and COVID safety in Mandarin/Cantonese for Chinese seniors who have been keeping themselves at home for years after the government lockdowns were lifted, due to their concerns about COVID. They're a group that takes COVID very seriously but have not been well-informed, and they were extremely happy to receive more info on the effective ways to deal with COVID.

What I learned from doing this project and talking to people in the community have been very insightful and I hope to share more in the future.

Thank you to everyone who supported us by sharing, donating and volunteering. The project has definitely made a difference in the community! 💪

Let's send a postcard for Palestine! 🍉 Protesting via @floodthepost_aus initiative by sending postcards to our politicians demanding for immediate action to Free Palestine and stop the genocide. 🍉

I got concession stamps so they're only 60c each 👌 Normally $1.20 each.

With over 28,000 deaths, 1.5 million people displaced, thousands injured, starving and facing disease, we need to stop the genocide and end Israel's violence and illegal occupation in Palestine 😠

I got a bit arts and crafts with the postcards and it was fun! I recommend it as a soothing activity in these distressing times. My partner also helped me colour in some of the Palestinian flags even though he's usually hands-off with political things 😅

Things are hectic right now getting everything organised, but stay tuned for more updates.

Aranet4 reading at Ice Zoo Sydney, Mascot. Tonight's ice skate session started at 700ppm and ended at 969ppm (1.5 hours total).

'Cheap Skate' is their weekly Thursday night discount ice skating sessions. This session was crowded.

Overall decent ventilation as CO2 levels remained in the safer zone, but could be better.

Please note CO2 monitors don't measure viral load in the air.

My partner gathered this info for me (ice skating with mask on) but I avoid these places due to COVID risk.
