Judgement Day - October 4, 2026. I completed the “Run The Valley Series” and I will do it again in 2027. A lot of miles, injuries and of course doubting myself to finish this year. I am struggling with a lot of personal issues, family, health, and just overall life right not but one things is forcing me to be better is God. I have always had the go and get it attitude and not let’s sit and see what happens. This life is a blessing and short, the struggle and stress is real but I am learning you cannot change the past, the present is what you make it and the future is what you have sacrificed today. Don’t regret anything just be in everything you choose and do. You got this, it’s not the pace, the place it’s the person that you want to see be better, YOU. #YOUvsYOU #TeamOrtiz taken in Bakersfield, California by @cowboyjess1

Judgement day Half Marathon October 4, 2026 - Judgement Day and the Run the Valley Series taught me a lot. I learned that regardless of your pace, strength, plan, health and injuries along the way, if you show up for yourself, you will be rewarded for your ability to do what most people won’t do. So proud of everyone that showed up to better themselves and endure the heat. I would like to thank Freedom Running for the opportunity to run the series. Thank you. I appreciate all the athletes that made this happen, the run groups, the running community, my family and friends. Nothing comes easy and time away from the people you love is tough but with their support and Jesus all things are possible. I love you Cassandra Ortiz for being my biggest supporter. #TeamOrtiz #whereisJesserunningnext #staytuned taken in Bakersfield, California by @cowboyjess1

Hell of a Half did not disappoint. Although it is challenging and is not for the weak at heart it is “Hella Fun”. Surround yourself with men and women that want to make you better. It’s time to stay out of the comfort zone and into the darkness. Let God give you the strength to do hard things that make you stronger. August 8, 2026 - Hell of a Half, Exeter, CA. Another great event and always a challenging course with the heat. Thank you @runthevalleyseries for an amazing event. Special thanks to God for giving me the strength and courage to run, my family, friends, run clubs and the running community for always being there for me and all of us who choose to suffer together. This community is unmatched. The running community loves everyone without judgement, regardless of your pace and where you are in life. Thank you for all the aid stations and volunteers this year that made the suffering possible and believe it or not, enjoyable. Special thanks to @running_fight_club @ibprofunrunclub @not_dead_threads @freedomrunningbrand @holygrit.co @battle_bros_usa @mindovermileskc for always being there. We grow when we suffer together. Next on the Agenda: Judgment Day - Bakersfield, CA. #TeamOrtiz taken in Exeter Rocky Hill by @cowboyjess1

07/29/2026 “Tupac” Ortiz - Today we lost a part of our life. “Tupac” it was so hard today but we thank God for the 18 years we had you little buddy. I still recall when you were you were younger and you catching flies in the back yard and how you coughed when you caught them. 😆 I will always remember how excited you were to see me when I got home from traveling from work. We will deeply miss you because you touched all our hearts. We love you Tupac and say hi to “Buddy” for us. Until we see you again. 🐕 🪽 #TeamOrtiz by @cowboyjess1

Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon July 26, 2026 - The run and the views will never let you down. Weather was perfect and the community is top notch. So grateful to be able to share this amazing experience with all the runners and you. If you ever get the opportunity to run Napa to Sonoma you should do it. The rolling hills, the vineyards, the people and the experience is so much fun. Thank you Lord for keeping me healthy and watching over me and keeping me injury free. Thank you Sonoma and Napa, see you all next year. #TeamOrtiz #whereisJesserunningnext #Staytuned taken in Sonoma Town Square Park by @cowboyjess1

Lulu’s 4th Birthday 07/11/2022 - I remember when this little girl came into our lives. So full of happiness and joy. God has given us the girl we needed at the right time in our lives. Lulu not only keeps us chasing BigDogs she has also been a wonderful travel companion. She stands like she is 7 foot tall and has an attitude of a giant and that’s why she fits in so well. Cheers to you Lulu and now time for a walk/run to start your day. #LuluRunsBakersfield #TeamOrtiz taken in Bakersfield, California by @cowboyjess1

May 2026 Miles: As I reflect back on May 2026, I review my photos of ankle and leg pain that I have been carrying since March 2026. It’s hard to stop running and rest but as I have learned you don’t have to be fast to be a runner but you do have to keep going. It’s one foot in front of the other and some days you feel amazing and some days you feel weak. Keep showing up because it’s alway been and always will be YOU vs YOU. Let me note I have 708 miles to date for 2026 and plan on 2026 Miles for this year, that’s my goal. May 2026 took me to new places with new views. Here I would like to share some of the places and people that are amazing and never thought I would meet. Granada 🇪🇸, Madrid 🇪🇸, Paris 🇫🇷, Amsterdam 🇳🇱, Chico, CA 🇺🇸, San Luis Obispo, CA 🇺🇸 and Bakersfield, CA 🇺🇸. Let’s see what we have for June 2026. #TeamOrtiz #whereisJesserunningnext #freedomrunning #notdeadthreads #runningfightclub by @cowboyjess1
