Bucket list trip achieved - cantering alongside giraffe in the Masai Mara. What a bloody privilege. Look at those guys!

Thank you thank you @safaris.unlimited @lospots_kev @georgia_inthejungle and most importantly of all, Astro the Super Pony, for the experience of a lifetime.

I realise the editing could be smoother but considering I csn barely put a reel together usually, I’m pretty proud of myself for this experiment with my new 360 toy (this has taken me all morning 🙈)

Gosh, Neil. As many said, if only you could have been there to witness yesterday’s beautiful memorial.

It was a massive privilege to bear witness to some of the most elegant eulogies & readings I’ve ever heard - at times they were hilarious, at times heart-achingly sad, and always absolutely on the nose.

It was an honour to hear the stories I hadn’t heard before (like the teenage blagging & autograph hunting!), and an equal honour to nod and smile in recognition of those that I did.

I didn’t know you as well as your nearest and dearest, but I thought the world of you, and I’m grateful to have been allowed to pay my respects in such a glorious setting.

I’ve never heard I’m Your Man at a memorial before, and I’ve never seen a congregation give a standing ovation to a photograph before. It was unique, just like you.

Thank you again for all your support over the years, I’ll never forget it. Sending so much love to your beautiful wife & daughter, and wider family.

Last year @bbcradio2 ‘s Party in The Park was in my nearest big town Chelmsford & it was BRILLIANT, and this year was in my Dad’s hometown of Stirling, so obviously I just had to go again, this time en famille

Everything was wonderful but highlights were Texas, Appleton, Deacon Blue, Cast - all fab

God, I'm loving this series of interviews called Many Ways to Live and Love. The idea is to celebrate all the unconventional roads life can take us on. There is no right way. Thank you to @coxkennedy for telling us what it's like to be a Jilly Cooper character in a building site. Emma is one of those people who pulls up her sleeves and does everything with such gusto. I think that's the first time I've used the word gusto. But she warrants it. If you would like to share your story of the different way you live and love, pls let me know. I am THRILLED to feature in this week’s Many Ways To Live And Love, a substack series by the incomparable @marianne_power_writer who I have admired for a long time.

Her writing manages to somehow tackle profound subjects with lightness & humour, and she often changes the way I look at the world.

So, although I almost never write about my personal life, I was delighted to collaborate on this piece for her series which looks at those of us who have ended up eschewing some of the norms of marriage, kids and a conventional home / career for something a little different

You can find the previous stories on Marianne’s substack / Insta etc and I highly recommend them all.

Thank you Marianne! I will henceforth by signing off all my emails with my new moniker, ‘Can Do Goddess’ 🥰

Oh, I’m shocked and devastated to hear of Neil Reading’s death. I spoke to him recently and he mentioned he was in hospital but I had no idea how serious it was. That sums up the man - private, modest, a gentleman, terribly kind and utterly committed to his job and clients.

We worked together many, many times over the years and i loved doing so because he was old school, professional, fair and straightforward. He wore his fierce intelligence lightly, and was always smiling & quick to laugh. I can think of tons of times we’d laugh at the absurdity of some situation we found ourselves in - and, memorably, one time we were both reduced to tears by a very moving moment with one of his clients.

Neil also very kindly set me on the path to becoming a media trainer after suggesting I try it many, many moons ago - and putting me in touch with my first clients. I remain ever grateful to him for that.

It’s just so bloody sad. I’ll be thinking of his family, his clients (many of whom I know were beloved friends going back many years, as he was so loyal), and all at @neilreadingpr .

Well my last reel about teaching Tiny to hack solo went down a storm so here’s an update. Spoiler - we are getting there! Something is clicking in her daft brain. It’s very slow progress but there’s no more bucking, rearing, walking backwards (okay, maybe a bit, but not like it was & not down ditches anymore 😱) …

We are moving forwards in the right direction and getting super brave
