From jazz and Americana to experimental and global music, Chris Coyle’s bass is at home in just about any setting. 🎶

Based in Philadelphia, Chris is an active bassist, composer, and educator who has performed across the U.S. and internationally, while also leading the high-school jazz program at Germantown Friends School. His bass is an important part of the music he creates, performs, and teaches, making protecting it an essential part of his career.

We’re proud to spotlight Chris and the instrument behind his work.

The Doylestown Bookshop is teaming up with Stage United to present MUSIC FOR BOOKSHOPS — a new series featuring live instrumentals from the worlds of jazz, ambient, classical, and lo-fi.

Tix + More Info: https://doylestownbookshop.com/musicforbookshops1

Pick a book off the shelf and stay for the music!

We kick off the series on Thursday, 9/17 with Cascadence: weaving through the sounds and traditions of chamber music, modern jazz, and experimental folk, these three dynamic composer-improvisers offer a
unique and heartfelt example of music for “strings trio”. Caswell has long been a sought-after violinist and collaborator, working with the likes of Chris Potter, Brian Blade, and David Byrne; Davis has led numerous projects (notably Aerial Photograph) combining string quartet
and large jazz ensemble lineups; Coyle is an omnivore of Jazz and New Music concepts, with a passion for serving varied, ambitious roles on the bass. taken in Doylestown, Pennsylvania by @coylechrissy
