Katsu + Curry 🍛 name a better duo.
📌 @ducks.restaurant , San Gabriel (LA)

This is a hole-in-the-wall in the SGV famous for their comfy Japanese food like katsu-don and curry rice. You can pick your own spice 🌶 level and dig in 🥄.

🐲 Sometimes I am a bit jaded of all the colorful dishes we see on IG — does it actually taste good or is it just insta-worthy? Well definitely do not miss these Jade Noodles from @sapp_coffee_shop . Not only do they look really cool, they are so tasty with light, fresh noodles, a savory flavor, and bits of roast duck. I would definitely order again. Also you cannot leave without grabbing their famous Thai Tea to go.

Dishes Featured Here:
🥤 Thai Iced Tea
🐉 Jade Noodles: Green egg noodles with BBQ pork, roast duck and crab meat topped with ground peanuts and Thai chili powder.
🍳 Pad Thai: Stir fried rice noodles with egg and Sapp Pad Thai sauce, topped with ground peanuts, bean sprouts, green onion and cilantro with choice of protein.

my go to takeout dimsum spot in the SGV… I always get the siu mai , braised tofu curd rolls, and fried footballs 🏈 (ham sui gok) … the har gow (shrimp dumplings) are just ok but they are a dimsum mainstay…

My go-to west side ice cream shop is @gingersdivine ! You can always expect a (fast moving) line at night and 40+ high quality house-made flavors to choose from. This time I got lavender honeycomb, butterscotch oreos & fudge, pickled strawberry and blueberry pie.

BEST BITES IN LA SERIES 🎥
This was the best #DineLA deal (I really hope they do this $25, 4-item lunch in the winter time) and the best bite was the LAS FLAUTAS AHOGADAS . Our server said people love it or avoid it and it makes sense because shrimp shells + heads are divisive… but if you love seafood, mexican flavors and the fried head you get with amaebi nigiri then this is your calling…
