🎏🥰⭐️!!! This one’s about coming back to our childlike wonder and making things from that place. I like to think ideas are always around us, just waiting for someone to catch them and bring them to life. The more I create from curiosity and play -instead of what I *should* make or what I think other people *might* like- the more my work feels like me :) Creating is kinda ugly sometimes, uncertain, and full of tiny decisions… but that’s part of the fun. Showing up anyway has taught me to trust the process because the otherside of that can be something pretty cool. When was the last time you made something just for the sake of making something? :)"Let's Play" 30X40Acrylic on Canvas SoldThemes: Curiosity, creativity, playful, creative expression, acrylic painting, vancouver artist by @cozyconnectionstudio

I can pinpoint that this was something I made where I felt more hope in my life. Like it was something real I felt instead of saying it just to say it. This tracks down practicing prayer. It wasn’t something I’d ever really done, I honestly didn’t know what else to do (lol). Over time, I stopped trying to control every outcome and started trusting that I didn’t have to have everything figured out. That changed a lot for me and this painting came to life alongside it! The person looks up, suggesting that there's something calling them. They're standing on solid ground filled with flowers and blooming grass. The white swirl line in the background is my favourite. It reminds me that life isn’t a straight trajectory. There are setbacks and unexpected detours, but the path can still be leading somewhere beautiful."THERE'S MORE TO LIFE" 24X36 SoldThemes: Hope, faith, prayer, resilience, growth, healing, trusting the process, nature, original art, Vancouver artist, acrylic painting. by @cozyconnectionstudio

Happy one year birthday to this painting!! 🥰🥹I made this almost exactly a year ago and what a difference a year can do. Back then, I was in a really fragile season. I was in between moves, navigating a breakup, and feeling unfulfilled at work. I wanted to create something that felt like the complete opposite of what I was experiencing. So I painted this.At the time, this piece embodied what strength meant to me. Bold, encompassing, grounded, forward-moving, and unapologetic - something I desperately wanted to feel at the time but couldn't. So I painted what I wanted to feel instead. A year later, I notice something different. The blue stands out to me so much more. It feels calmer than I remembered. More spacious. More freeing. It's funny how it looks different to me now. What do you see when you look at this? 💛"PEACE & PROTECTION" 45X30 Acrylic on canvas Themes: reflection, resilience, transformation, healing, abstract art, emotional expression, and finding strength through creativity. by @cozyconnectionstudio

On Monday, I finished painting this mural for @redbeefnoodles on Main and Keefer in Vancouver for @visitchinatown & @vanpolicefnd.This project was such a fun challenge, from working on a stucco-textured wall to introducing a new tool into my process: a VR headset to project my designs onto the wall. I thoroughly got over the nervousness of wearing a Metaquest in public (lol!!). One of my goals for this mural was to work more efficiently than I have on past projects. That meant planning out timelines, setting phase-by-phase goals, and being intentional with my energy and execution. I completed this in 5 days, averaging about 8–10 hours of painting each day. There’s still lots to learn and improve, but I’m feeling really happy with this one. I genuinely love how it turned out! I had so many lovely conversations with neighbours, business owners, office workers, and people passing through the area. It was so sweet hearing how excited people were about the design’s celebration of Chinatown.I’m especially grateful to a special few. Thank you for the encouragement, guidance, and support throughout the process - I don’t take any of that for granted 🫶🏼@phreddylauw @artandsoulcreativeco@madeintruthinc @judy.cooland my dad, who came by with a ladder! ouuuu so excited to be painting some new stuff in the next couple weeks 🤭💛 can’t wait to show you guys soon!!throwback to the very first mural i painted late last year 😍this one was such a leap of faith, i had just gotten a grant for this project. started messaging businesses to see who’d be open to some art, and after lots of meetings finally found a space that felt right. i rmbr feeling so limited at the time (first mural, no supplies, and i was deadass watching youtube videos on how to paint murals lmao). but the grant ended up covering A LOTTT of my materials (some I still use today 🥹) and gave me the push i neededseriously… if there’s a will, there’s a way 💖💖 if i had let those limitations stop me, i wouldn’t have built the confidence to keep going. i'm still learning (and getting stuckkkk eeek) but when i look back at where i was last dec compared to now… 😭😭😭 forever grateful i didn’t quit !! my love to u: do the thing and it'll figure itself out... if ur feeling stuck, it's not over yet and keep going little by little 🔥🎥: @visualcapsules by @cozyconnectionstudio

If you've watched any of my stories this past week, you'd know I'm painting this lovely mural in Chinatown! It's been so fun bringing this colourful scene into the neighbourhood I've spent so many years of my life in. I used to grocery shop with my parents here, attend Chinese school here and I've worked as a youth worker for a few years in the building across from where I'm painting 🤭 I hold such wonderful memories here. The community here has been such a surprising part of this project, I'm getting familar with a few lovely faces, a kid showed me her own artwork, the thumbs-up I receive from grandma and grandpas (😭💛) and a few oddballs here and there. I hope to think I'm slowly making friends here :) My wonderfully talented friend @artwithco painting with me ☺️Thank you @larrykinfahchin for the capture! by @cozyconnectionstudio
