10 things about me — take 'em or leave 'em.

I might do this another time because I have more as a sort of get to know me/the bookstagrammer and it's a fun to share.

Not everything here is deep. It's really just... me. 😅

One more thing: I don't follow for a follow. I follow accounts whose content and vibe genuinely call to me and I'm here to connect with people, not just grow a number.

Can you relate? If 3 or more hit close to home, we're basically friends already.

My Kindle eats for free again today 📚

Stuff Your Kindle Time - Mystery & Crime edition is live today and tomorrow. Mysteries, thrillers, women sleuths, British detectives... I haven't read one of those in a while but this is my kind of trouble 🙂

I was at work all day, so my hunt starts tonight and my rules don't change: Amazon, every price checked at 0$ and if they look interesting to me.

Are you going to check those too? What are you hoping to find?

It's happening on Book below - I'll share the link in my stories. You can always Google "bookbelow mystery & crime" or "stuff your Kindle day" 🤗

Thrifted book haul!!

Went to 3 locations last week. One of those occasions, my work bag was full of cookie boxes we couldn't sell anymore at work (benefits to working a bookstore 😊). I almost had to use my arms as a second bag but I managed to make everything fit for my bus commute home. No regrets!

Which one of these would you start with?

It's banned books week and I thought I would share my part. Apparently, my shelves are "full of contraband 📚

Five of the most challenged books out there, all living in my bedroom amongst all my other books. Some got me back into reading and one I have yet to read.

I used to have more but they didn't survive the great unhaul before I moved and some I removed in the hopes of replacing them with better editions 🙂

What's the wildest book ban you've ever heard of?

P.S. I thrifted this HP book with the author's name blacked out. I didn't do it 🤭

QOTD: Are you team scary or team cozy this October? The cozier the merrier for me but I would love to read more spooky books this season too.

Hello friends! Happy October! It is the beginning of spooky season and I am over here, romanticising the rain with this small-town romance like it's my job.🍂☕

And it kind of is though 🤭

Tell me, what are you currently reading?

Hi, I'm Louise 📚

Happy you're here 🖤

What's the best book you've ever found secondhand? 👇

Did a full shelf inventory today and the math was... humbling. My shelves and I need to have a talk. 😅

In my defense: I unhauled a ton of books before moving here, and half of those were ones I'd already read and knew I'd never reread. Plus I'm a big Kindle reader, so a lot of my actual reading doesn't even live on these shelves. (Not counting the 18 I DNF'd — those are a whole other conversation.)

Still. The number is the number.

What's the oldest unread book on your shelf — the one that's been judging you the longest?

The thrift store is the only place my math gets creative 😂.

Tell me your most delusional book math, I need to feel less alone.

Your reading life isn't aesthetic, it's just real life lol

I love the dreamy reading vlogs as much as anyone, but as a bookstore girly my actual weekdays are deeply unglamorous. Reading gets squeezed into whatever cracks exist and honestly? Those 20 minutes hit harder than a whole cozy Sunday sometimes.

What's your reading routine actually like? 👀

I have gotten slightly better at leaving books behind at the thrift store.

Slightly. 😂

Because when you're surrounded by books for a few dollars each, “I could read this someday” is a VERY dangerous sentence.

So I've started asking myself a few questions before I hand over my money.

Sometimes the answer is no.

And sometimes the answer is still very obviously “yes, take the damn book home.” 😂

I'm curious: what's the one thing that makes you put a thrifted book back on the shelf? 👀
