As this country heads towards self-destruction, I ask my people, Do you have the physical ability, emotional discipline, & technical skills to give yourself a fighting chance? You must have all 3! Honesty, your physical and emotional abilities might be more important than your skills.
Nothing may happen, but I would rather be prepared than a$$ out! As my brother always says, practice like it's game day that way, game day feels like practice. Your time may be running out!

There is a lot that I want to say about this show!
All I will say at this time is that I had to STOP WATCHING!
I really wanted to love this show, but I soon realized that this show WAS NOT MADE FOR ME! Maybe it's a generational issue, a moral issue, or social issue. I just could not continue watching it.

Is the STANDARD!
STOP MOVING THE DAMN GOALPOSTS ON JALEN HURTS.

Wins. Playoff wins. Super Bowl performances. Passing TDs. Rushing TDs. Clutch drives.

Yet every bad quarter becomes another debate about whether he can play QB.

Critique the mistakes. Critique the reads. Critique the performance.

But stop pretending the man hasn’t PROVEN he belongs among the NFL’s accomplished quarterbacks.

At some point, the résumé has to count.

Same position. Same standards.

And if you still think Hurts has to prove he’s a quarterback, answer one question:

WHAT EXACTLY DOES HE HAVE TO DO THAT YOU DON’T REQUIRE FROM EVERYBODY ELSE?

Everybody wants the rank. Everybody wants the recognition. Everybody wants their name attached to the victory.

But when the mission gets difficult, none of that matters.

Leadership is knowing when to lead, when to follow, when to sacrifice, and when to put your ego in your pocket so the TEAM can accomplish the objective.

You don't have to get the credit.

You don't have to be the hero.

You don't even have to be seen.

The mission got accomplished. The team came home. That's the win.

Mission first! Team always! Ego last!

Some leaders think surviving a challenge means they won.

Wrong!

You can keep the title and lose the room.
Keep the position and lose the respect.
Keep the crown and lose the confidence of the people you lead.

You CAN'T lead when they don't trust you!

Authority can be written on paper. Leadership has to be earned!

And when the people closest to you, the ones who carried the weight, defended the mission, and stood beside you, no longer trust your judgment, the real problem isn't the challenge.

It's what caused the challenge.

A crown doesn't make you a King when nobody believes in the throne anymore.

You may have survived the challenge.

But at what cost?

A BLACK PERSON IS FOUND HANGING FROM A TREE IN MISSISSIPPI.

And you expect us to hear “SUICIDE” and just shut the hell up?

NO.

We know what that word can mean to an investigation.

Once a death is officially classified as suicide, the urgency of looking for a killer can disappear. Leads can go cold. Witnesses move on. Evidence disappears. Surveillance gets overwritten. And eventually everybody gets told:

CASE CLOSED.

But here's the question nobody should be afraid to ask:

WHAT IF THE ORIGINAL INVESTIGATION WAS WRONG?

If investigators miss something, and the medical determination relies partly on information produced by that investigation, who catches the mistake?

That's the damn problem!

Assumption → Investigation → Suicide Ruling → Investigation Ends.

That's not accountability if nobody independently challenges the original conclusion.

And don't tell Black people that Mississippi's history is irrelevant.

We KNOW that history.

We know what a Black body hanging from a tree has meant in America.

That does NOT mean every hanging is a lynching.

It means you had better conduct an investigation so thorough, so transparent and so independently reviewable that there is NO DAMN QUESTION about how that person died.

Tasia Fortune deserves that!

Every family deserves that!

“SUICIDE” SHOULD BE THE CONCLUSION OF AN EXHAUSTIVE INVESTIGATION—NOT THE WORD USED TO END ONE!

We're not asking permission to question the system.

WE'RE QUESTIONING IT!

Show the evidence.
Show the investigation.
Show how you reached the conclusion.

BLACK FAMILIES DESERVE ANSWERS, NOT LABELS.

Let me say this plainly:

The problem is not that Black people are mourning Dolly Parton. She was a legendary artist, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist whose contributions deserve respect.

The problem is that many of us appear more emotionally invested in celebrating her than Michael Wright, a Black actor whose performances became part of our own cultural memory.

We knew Eddie King Jr.

We quoted Eddie King Jr.

We watched The Five Heartbeats until we knew entire scenes by heart.

Yet when the man behind that unforgettable character passed away, the response from our community seemed painfully quiet.

Michael Wright gave us powerful performances in The Five Heartbeats, Sugar Hill, and beyond. He deserved more than a few reposted clips and passing mentions. He deserved to be recognized as a significant contributor to Black cinema.

We cannot keep demanding that the world recognize and celebrate Black excellence while giving our own cultural contributors less energy than we give mainstream white icons. I WILL ALWAYS PUT OUR CULTURAL ICONS OVER THAT OF ANY OTHER RACE!

Respect Dolly Parton, but celebrate Michael Wright.

Honor those who helped tell our stories.
