Cardboard has never looked so wonderfully weird. Wayne White, the creative force behind Pee-wee's Playhouse, is dreaming up an entirely new puppet world for Meow Wolf's forthcoming Los Angeles location.

Think handmade puppets, Technicolor landscapes, and the kind of imagination that turns ordinary materials into extraordinary worlds.

No wind? No scarf.

That's the wonderfully simple idea behind Dutch designer Merel Karhof's Wind Knitting Factory, where a windmill powers a vintage knitting machine to create one-of-a-kind scarves.

Each piece is a record of nature at work, making something as invisible as wind feel surprisingly tangible.

Not every book is meant to be read from cover to cover.

Some unfold like accordions. Others become sculptures. And each has something important to say.

At the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Booking: Artists' Books by Black Artists explores how 47 extraordinary works capture history, identity, and the present moment through the art of bookmaking.

Turns out, good taste starts in the forest. At Oregon Barrel Works, Rick DeFerrari and his team transform local oak into handcrafted barrels, relying on generations-old techniques, a little fire, and a whole lot of expertise. And the wood itself? It has a surprising influence on what's inside.

ACC joins the national craft community in mourning the loss of one of the field's most notable advocates and supporters, Dorothy Saxe. Dorothy and her husband, George, were recipients of ACC's 2010 Aileen Osborn Webb Award for Philanthropy. American Craft writer Deborah Bishop interviewed Dorothy for this article in 2023. Our thoughts are with Dorothy's family and many friends.

The American Craft Council published an article on Dorothy and George as collectors and the impact they have made on the field of craft. Read the article via the LINK IN BIO. by @craftcouncil

Who knew a farm could be an artist's next great studio?

In Massachusetts, artists are trading traditional studio spaces for flower fields and working farms, finding inspiration in the land and the people who tend it.

The result? Beautifully unexpected collaborations that bring overlooked agricultural stories to life.

Big art. Small island.

On a remote island in the Pacific Northwest, a former hay barn has become an unexpected home for monumental woodwork, sculptural basketry, ceramics, and more.

And it's part of a much larger creative community! From the longstanding Orcas Island Pottery (pictured here) to Orcas Island Artworks and Crow Valley Gallery, the island is home to a remarkable collection of artists and spaces dedicated to the handmade.

Meet the artists making waves at Orcas Art Barn—and discover why sometimes the biggest ideas need a little room to roam.

Coulter Fussell’s (@coulterfussell) puffy, fluorescent wall works—all made from salvaged and donated textiles from friends, neighbors, and strangers alike—mix aspects and techniques from various textile practices, such as quilting, doll-making, and upholstery.

So far, 2026 has been a game-changing year for the Georgia-born, Mississippi-based artist. She received Creative Capital for Artist’s (@creative_capital) 2026 State of the Art Prize in January, was named a 2026 Joan Mitchell (@joanmitchellfdn) Fellow in August, and opened The Proving Ground, her first museum survey exhibition (with an accompanying catalog), at the Mississippi Museum of Art (@msmuseumart) over the summer. Now on view at the Columbus Museum (@comu_ga) in Georgia, the show is an artistic homecoming of sorts.
