🕢 Wann? Mittwoch, 7. Oktober 2026, 19:30 Uhr für 20 Minuten
📱 Wo? Live bei Instagram @hendrikmenken

Our team was once again out and about in Berlin. 🐴🕯️

This time, we had the privilege of supporting two exceptional brands at the launch of a truly unique collaboration – Stella McCartney & Bugaboo.
The collaboration between Stella McCartney and Bugaboo demonstrates that conscious design, responsible materials, functionality and individual aesthetics are not mutually exclusive – but rather come together to create products with meaning.

We were all the more honoured to help bring a tribute to Stella McCartney’s Falabella Pony to life at a one-off workshop.

Inspired by the colours of the new stroller, 40 mums were able to create their own pony candle and, using unique CRAFTEFACTS scents, capture their very own personal memory of a wonderful afternoon in their own Falabella pony. 🐴🕯️
And, above all, discover the art of candle-making.

Thank you to all the participants for a magical moment. 🏹🔥✨
All that’s left to say is…

„Hüaaahhhahaaaaa“ 🐴

A big thank you also goes to @coratamborini for the wonderful photos.

––

Preserving forms, structures, colours and specimens are one of the most fulfilling aspects of our work. From growing the plants ourselves, pressing them with their own required technique, disecting and storing them, just to put them back together in their most aesthetic way fill us daily with awe. 🏹🔥

What results for us is not just a pressed flower, but the uniqueness of nature’s diversity – again and again.
A craft we not only master with every commissioned artwork, but that we love to share in our Botanic Design workshops.

When our movements become more careful, our breathing grows shallow, and our admiration for the delicate specimens culminates in contemplation, we know every time that magic is happening right here.

Visit our studio to see finished works of art 📍, contact us about commissioned pieces 📩, or join our Botanical Design workshops.

It’s time to discover our herbarium. 🌿🌺🌾

Laways working with @halberahmen and Museum Glass to prevent the colours to loose colours - and the system is just genious

BRONZE-FENCHEL — Foeniculum vulgare ‚Purpureum‘

Nicht jedes Kraut muss grün sein. 🍁

BRONZE FENNEL — Foeniculum vulgare ‘Purpureum’

Not every herb needs to be green.
We have a new addition to our collection of botanical compositions available in store (or DM 📩)

Smoke-coloured fronds and deep bronze-purple tones, Bronze Fennel is very delicate in structure and growth pattern.
Delicate in structure, almost weightless in movement, but on the other hand yet very rich in colour and scent.

In the light, its foliage shifts between aubergine, copper and dark green. Crushed between the fingers, it carries the familiar, warm note of anise. Something you even smell while composing the pressed plant. you can still smell while composing the pressed plant.

A plant that feels equally fits to fish dished or in on at a wall, preserved in its vibrant form and striking colour.

CRAFT OF THE WEEK — No. 03 🏹🔥CYANOTYPE — Photographic Magic / images with light.

Before photography became instant, there was cyanotype.
Developed in 1842, the process offered an accessible way to reproduce images, drawings and documents. It was adopted by architects, engineers and scientists to copy plans and records — giving us the distinctive deep-blue “blueprints” in Prussian Blue
that became part of modern visual culture.
What still makes cyanotype so compelling is its simplicity.
A sensitised sheet of paper or fabric.Sunlight. Water. And something that interrupts the light.
It can be a fern gathered on a walk, a piece of lace, a found object or a photograph printed onto transparent film. Old engravings can meet a landscape captured on a hike; a botanical composition can sit beside a personal image. Every layer leaves its own trace, and every exposure brings a slightly different result.
The process may be simple, but its possibilities are almost endless. Cyanotypes can be made with direct objects and plants, with your own photographic negatives, on paper or on textiles. And the classic Prussian blue can be shifted further: tea, coffee or red wine can gently tone a print towards warmer, softer shades.

At CRAFTEFACTS, we work with cyanotype as a way of bringing together image, material and memory — turning a personal photograph, a collected leaf or a historical fragment into a new artefact.

Join us for an after-work introduction to cyanotype, or take the time to explore the process in full. You will leave with your own collection of prints, an art folder and a cyanotype cotton tote bag.

Find the upcoming workshops and book via our website.
P.S. A selection of original cyanotype works is also available in-store.

ARTEFACT OF THE WEEK — No. 02 🏹🔥
THE HERBARIUM — A Passion, Passed On

Before CRAFTEFACTS had a name, there was this herbarium sheet.
Found in the cellar, it once belonged to my great-grandfather, who collected and pressed plants himself. Its handwritten names, fragile petals and warm discolouration preserve a passion that resurfaced generations later in our own work.

For us, this artefact holds more than the fiery red of a poppy. It reflects care, attention to detail and a way of noticing the beauty and form of nature — often overlooked by the roadside or in a field.

At CRAFTEFACTS, our botanical works begin with that same attention. We work with pressed flowers and plants to create compositions that preserve a particular place, season or memory. Set on carefully selected materials such as GMUND paper, they become artefacts that invite us to look again — and perhaps a little more closely.

Available in-store, through workshops and as individual commissions, each work is shaped by a particular place, season or personal story.
Whether it is a wedding bouquet, preserved as a reminder of the day, or flowers from a mother’s cottage garden, we all carry places, seasons and gestures worth capturing.

CRAFTEFACTS visited Berlin, and that wasn’t all…

Supporting MINI & Paul Smith at their launch event in the iconic KaDeWe this August fills us not only with immense honour, but also with boundless gratitude.

Working together to curate the colours, design language and integration into the hosting concept down to the finest detail… it was simply a magical moment to showcase our ‘Farnese’ candle design in an incredible setting.

Now our ‘Farnese’ candles can proudly say:
“Ick bin ein Berliner”

ARTEFACT OF THE WEEK — No. 01
Introducing FARNESE – Our CRAFTEFACTS Signature Candle

Named after the Italian Renaissance family behind, among other things, Rome’s Palazzo Farnese, our FARNESE candles translate the expressive silhouette of a historic candlestick into a contemporary candle sculpture.

A familiar object, reimagined: part candle, part candlestick—made to bring a little more colour to everyday life and to give special moments a ritual of their own.
Handmade in our Munich atelier from 100% German rapeseed wax, FARNESE is made for long evenings, laid tables and convivial moments.

Available in our signature colours and scents—including Fig & White Forest Mushroom—and, on request, in bespoke colour and fragrance combinatiions.

At CRAFTEFACTS, we believe that the objects we surround ourselves with should fulfil more than a function. They carry mood, memory and the story of how they came to be—and perhaps, one day, the stories told around FARNESE’s flickering flame.

Which colour would you choose: Carmine Red, Saffron, Stone Pine or Travertine?

P.S. The best way to experience the fragrances is to visit us in store.
