After work on Friday I joined my friend Beth at Crucible Glass, the studio and gallery of Mike and Hilary Hatch @crafthatch for an open house. Despite the high temps, Mike and his assistant were joyfully blowing glass - creating a Santa melting from the heat (hopefully they've got a picture of that up by now on their page)! I love how creative, talented, whimsical, and thoughtful Mike is, and it was neat looking around the studio.

Had a great day hosting maker/scholars @kimberly__english and @roxie_fricton in the archives @craftguild.
We went through dozens of weaving drafts collected and hand written by Frances Goodrich as well as her water color paintings of the designs.
Then we headed into the object collection to examine several historical weavings including “The Gift Coverlet” which was made in 1850, and given to Goodrich in the late 1800s. A small hand written label is sewn to one of the corners reads, “This piece started the Allanstand Industries.” by @crafthatch
