I usually come up with the way the colors fall on my ruffle hats but I also don’t mind recreating designs someone saw elsewhere and making it my own. She wanted fuller ruffles and that’s what she got! Now I’ve gotta make another for her Mom and for ME! ♥️🖤💛💚✊🏾

I love that one of my creations made it up to the boroughs! 🗽

My HS classmate Will reached out with a request for a bucket hat. We talked about doing checkerboard at first but I couldn’t find more of the yarn I needed AT ALL. 🥲 So, I worked with what I had to give him this sleek bucket with thick horizontal rows.

His responses are too funny. Now I guess I gotta make him a sweater 😂 by @craftiechip

My first pair of crochet pants came out so cute! Can’t wait to wear them this Fall! 🍁🧶

While I’m practicing making more wearables, I was lucky enough to get a #crochetwear haul from Mamas Made It! 🧶 Every single set fit like a dream and sparked even more of my curiosity for creating unique, customizable, and sustainable clothing of my own.

Handmade with LOVE? Always gonna be a win for me. 💕Which one’s your fav? (Mine’s the blue one, obvs 😍✨) by @craftiechip

If I went to see Beyoncé, this would’ve been the PERFECT top to wear! 🤠Finally got around to trying the Reversible Fringe Top by @eurythmik and I loved it so much, I didn’t even weave the ends in before trying on. Make sure you swipe thru to see the fringe in action ✨ by @craftiechip

These tiny ruffles carry BIG love! ♥️

I didn’t expect baby ruffle hats to become one of my favorite things to make. They were a little intimidating at first, but they turned out so dang cute! Something about soft yarn in sweet colors and knowing they’ll crown the tiniest little heads? I’m hooked.

This red + lavender combo had me in a chokehold. Mama (@whereskimmie , my very first customer!) wanted her new arrival to have a matching hat, so I made two sizes, just in case one didn’t fit. She ended up gifting the lavender set to a friend, and she loved them too! 💜

Here’s a lil peek behind the scenes, from admiring those fluffy ruffles to packing up the love. I always include handwritten notes with my orders. And yes… the final clip might just make you squeal. I warned you. 🥰

Casually mentioned to Hubby one day that JoAnn’s was closing. When we took a quick day trip to CHS, I definitely didn’t have “drop me off for a lil yarn haul” on my bingo card.

I went in with a plan: only buy what could fit in my arms. Solid plan… at first. The yarn shelves looked kinda dry and empty, but then I saw the piles in the back and whew—I wished I had a cart. I grabbed what spoke to me and left with a sad little smile. I just discovered JoAnn’s this year and she’s already saying goodbye!

But then, the Crochet Ancestors came through. The next day, my Mother-in-Law texted: “Was there anything else you forgot to get?” She just happened to be passing by and sent pics of what was left. You already know she came through with a whole bag for me!

So now the stash is stacked and the ideas are flowing. I tried Juicy Couture’s hot pink velour yarn for the first time in a ruffle hat—it had me nervous, but baby… she’s pretty. I’ll show y’all more later.

What should I make next? I’m thinking summer ruffles, tops, skirts, bags… all the tings. ALL. THE. TINGS. ✨ by @craftiechip

When I say I lost my mind making this hat for Jasmine… I mean it in the best, most dramatic way. 🥹

I knew this hat needed to go off—but I didn’t realize just how extra she’d get until we were deep in the stitches.

Jas sent pics of the dress and we went back and forth on colors until she finally sent me the actual dress. That’s when it clicked. I didn’t get it right the first time—or even the second—but once it came together? Whew. The vision was loud, and this hat needed to match that energy.

I wanted to create a piece that didn’t just match her dress—but elevated it. From the mesh, to the ruffles, to that bold color blend… every row was stitched with pure intention. 🧶

This was a labor of love. A full-on creative stretch. A test in patience and vision.

She LOVED it (obvs)! And yes… I’ve already picked out yarn for her next look.

Stay tuned! ⏭️ by @craftiechip

Sometimes creativity whispers instead of roars—and I had to learn to be okay with that.

These CraftieChip dolls were born during one of those whisper moments. I wasn’t crocheting much recently (my body needed rest), but my imagination never stopped. I had to hop on the trend! (Even if I’m posting a little after the hype died down—there were lots of mixed reviews!)

Each doll is inspired by pieces of me—soft, bold, healing, African & Hoodoo-soaked, and whole.

I’m slowly easing back into making, one soft stitch at a time. I’d love to try to bring one of them to life one day—or even crochet one of their cute lil outfits.

Which one speaks to you most? (my fav one is the Beachy doll cuz that’s where I need to be!) 🏝️ by @craftiechip

It was hard sending this one off. It was my first hat incorporating so many colors! (5!) but I enjoyed all the color changes and weaving in ends. Plus, it was soooo soft! I love when supporters choose their colors and give me free artistic direction. The end result was 💙 and I’m definitely gonna remake for myself.

It’s giving old school Watermelon Now and Laters. I really had fun making this one! 🍬 The colors are so vibrant and the ruffles make it even more fun.
