September is National Sewing Month, and in Philadelphia, every stitch has a story.

For @betsyrosshouse, sewing is more than a craft. It is a connection to history, skill, and the hands that helped shape the symbols we still recognize today.

The strength of Philadelphia's craft community isn't found in one studio or one artist—it's found in the connections between them.

Through shared spaces, mentorship, collaboration, and generations of knowledge, makers continue to build on the city's rich creative legacy. Those connections are the throughlines that make Philadelphia the Craft Capital. by @craftnowphl

This summer, we asked thousands of children to make masks that represent the superpower that will enable them to become Revolutionary Action Heroes. What better way to learn more about the designs than to ask the designers themselves! We spoke to some of our campers about their color and material choices, the historical figures that inspired them, and much more.

Now that the summer camp season has concluded, we have received photo submissions of more masks from other campers throughout the city. We invite you to visit our Revolutionary Action Heroes Gallery at Smith this weekend to see our collection!
