I grow and wildcraft food and medicine. I worship the beauty of the Northern Forest and am wholly devoted to the Moon.

I fell the eff off of here over 2 years ago now without a whisper. I just left one day without planning it and started spending all my time living in the real world only. It's been everything. It took time but my nervous system has been re-regulated to life without social media. Posting now risks that regulation to be honest but here I am. I wanted to say hello, I'm good, I still be living, still wildcrafting and making medicine, still homesteading and growing food, still raising wildlings. I've been putting in the love and effort to heal from both life and chronic illness.

When I left social media I started putting my precious little bits of extra time in a day not to being on my phone, but to learning to play music for the first time in my adult life and it's been a wonderful experience and absolute medicine for my nervous system. My love and I even started a little rinky dink spooky band called Delicious Gloom which has brought me more joy than I can express.

For the last few months I've been thinking of ways that I can open up sharing my life, photos, wildcrafting, homesteading, gardening, medicine making and maybe even music in a way that feels more authentic to me and I've landed on a newsletter. Something small and doable that fits with my life as it is now, a newsletter published 2-4 times a year, starting likely in the coming spring. Sometimes I might have things to sell but that is not at the heart of it for me, I just like and miss sharing with like minded people and I feel the call to continue a role as both educator and muse within my communities. That's the dream right now. The seed being planted in the dark. If you are someone who has followed and liked this account and all I've shared over the years, perhaps you might be interested in this. I'm starting to gather emails so feel free to share your email here or through DM.

I won't be back here full time, or even part time but for now here is a collection of photos that mean something to me, taken from June up until a few weeks ago. Everyday I fall more in love with this life. Thank you for witnessing the parts I choose to share and for all the potent encouragement along the way🖤 by @craftofthewild

Headed into the Marsh to transplant some special gifted rat root and also to harvest some arrowleaf (coltsfoot) root and wild mint for a cough syrup with plantain leaf. I got my shovel, Sage for smudging, Tobacco for offering and a sweet atim iskwesis (little puppy girl). by @craftofthewild

The North Country Fair holds my whole heart. My life and most everything and everyone dear to me has been guided by our Summer Solstice gathering. What an honour it is to be apart of it all @northcountryfairforever

The land is finally quieting and I've been back in the gardens for a few days now and the moon and the cow parsnip in full bloom with the ripening moon was just everything tonight✨ by @craftofthewild

Getting them Spruce tips🌲
Spruce tip tea, spruce tip jelly, spruce tip syrup, spruce tip vinegar, spruce tip shrub, spruce tip marinade, spruce tip salad dressing, spruce tip kombucha, spruce tip salt, spruce tip oil, spruce tip honey….. endless options to capture the flavour and medicine of this beloved boreal spring time treat. I’ve made and tried them all and I’d say my favourites boil down to spruce tip salt, as a finishing salt on potatoes and eggs, and spruce tip shrub as a drink concentrate for a bubbly water or a gin drink!

Anthropocene ~ we living in it ~the wild fires are burning out of control around us in near every direction. The smoke was so thick this morning it was blocking out the sun and is making it hard to breathe. Trying to exist and move forward and plant a garden wondering if we will be evacuated from our home. Begging for rain. Grateful for those on the front lines trying to hold the fire beasts back for weeks now. Feeling for those who have lost their homes, animals and businesses.
