Hi 👋🏼 ☺️ I’m Dre of @craftswithdre , and I’m a multimedia artist lucky enough to have stumbled upon the amazingly talented maker community. I primarily work with epoxy, but I dabble in painting, welding, I love blacksmithing (but I don’t do it nearly enough), and I loveeee learning new things! I also love teaching epoxy stuff, so if you have questions 😉🙋🏼‍♀️I’m here for ya! .I’m beyond lucky to have the support of a few really amazing companies including @totalboat @wisedry_ @blackdiamondpigments_com @lincolnelectric just to name a few, and I’m eternally grateful for their love! I’m madly in love with Lucas of @mannmadeinma who is my ride or d!e Mann and partner in crime 🥰 You often will find us hanging out at maker events with our favorite homies @themakercamp and we hang out with some of those same homies on @clubhouse in the @workinghandspodcast rooms in between maker events! 🥳 I’m an Occupational Therapist by day with dreams of one day going full time as a maker (once my student loans are paid off 😉). What do you guys think? Should I make another one of these? 🤩✨⭐️💫..I absolutely LOVED making this table, mostly because of the wild depth that you can attain when completing multiple pours/having multiple layers 🥰.. 3 Things I’ve learned while making this table:..-don’t forget to level your work surface… this little side table had a huge dip in the bottom of it, so I had to pour my first layer just to level the whole thing out… I also learned that just because the edges of the table seemed level, doesn’t mean the pour on the inside is also level 😅🤭.- do NOT torch alcohol ink. I know… that seems OBVIOUS… right!? I learned this lesson a while ago… the hard way… lol no I didn’t burn the shop down but Lordy bee, ya girl had a little palpitation action occur lol. Sometimes, when you’re making art, you’re just thinking of what you’re adding as pigments, colors… not always thinking about what those colors are made of. It’s ALCOHOL inks 🤭🫣.-test out your color selections BEFORE pouring… especially if you have color shift pigments and a black background… 😅 I tried to add a really dope pink/blue color shift… take into consideration the black background? Def turned out like a weird green/orange?!? 😳😬 When you’re pouring epoxy, you only have so much time… and a short window to be able to correct a pour (if you’re lucky). I made it work but HOLY MOSES. Could’ve saved myself a LOT of frustration! .Lemme know if you have any questions about this little galaxy lovers side table 😉💕 Love you guys, and thank you as always for your support. This weekend, I got to cut my birthday cake with a sword! And that’s a first! If you haven’t gotten a chance to come to one of the intensives over at @themakercamp , you’re truly missing out! We always have such a blast! ..Huge thanks to @uncle_sam_metalworks for taking me under his wing this weekend to start making a knife! 🤩 Can’t wait to finish this puppy up! ☺️ by @craftswithdre

Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mother, Gaylus (lol aka Gayle or Ma 🥰😂)! .I don’t really know what I would ever do without you, mom.. .You’ve always been there for me through thick and thin. You’ve constantly listened to me, whether I’m crying or laughing or even when I’m rambling about nonsense. I cherish every minute I get to spend with you and Dad, and I am so grateful that you have always tried to teach me how to do the right thing, even if that means it’s the more difficult thing to do. Your guidance in life does NOT go unnoticed. You’ve always encouraged me to pick myself back up when I’ve fallen down (physically and metaphorically😉#iykyk ). And I’m so appreciative that you did. 🫶🏼🙌🏼.There are so many times where I think about where my life *could* be, and I’m so grateful that you’ve always helped me to pick the right path. THIS path. I wouldn’t change a thing for the world, regardless of how chaotic things were there for a minute. .If you know me, you know I am quite the loquacious (talkative🤭) person. I will have you know, I learned that from my mama. 💁🏼‍♀️ No matter where we went, my mom usually either knew somebody or she would manage to effortlessly make conversation with a stranger. My sis and I would roll our eyes and get antsy as a child because we knew this would tack on like 10 mins to whatever errands we were running. Now, I find myself doing literally THE SAME THING. 🤭.So often, I think of my mom as someone who taught me kindness. Whether it was donating some of my old clothes to the children in my mom’s school in Providence or helping an animal that’s stuck in the road… she always thought, and still very much thinks, of others. I often find myself attempting to exemplify what you have taught me. 🙌🏼.Thank you for every lesson you’ve ever taught me. 🙏🏼 You truly are the best teacher 🥰💕.I hope you’re having a wonderful Mother’s Day, and I’m really pumped you got to have Lobster rolls today to celebrate! 😂🤤Can’t wait to celebrate with you next weekend!
