Safe to say @sunnysideup_mt x @theusualsuspects_mt did not disappoint 👽 Had such a blast playing w my bros @edd.wav & @dan_sammut , the energy in the crowd was through the roof all night long 😮‍💨

🔥DJ CONTEST FINALIST 3🔥

@craigmatthews____ is een Maltese dj die tegenwoordig in Brussel woont en gevormd is door de groovegedreven energie van de tech house en garage uit de jaren 90. Met een achtergrond in liveoptredens als gitarist bij Pebble Beach en jarenlange ervaring achter de draaitafels als de helft van CND, heeft hij een natuurlijke, instinctieve benadering van het selecteren van nummers ontwikkeld. Voor hem draait het om geduld, timing en het op een moeiteloze, niet-geforceerde manier laten overvloeien van de ene plaat naar de andere. Naast zijn tijd in het uitgaansleven van Malta was hij medeorganisator van de ‘The Usual Suspects’-serie, waarmee hij ruimte creëerde voor meer underground, groove-gerichte sounds. Nu hij zich richt op zijn soloproject, blijft Craig een sound ontwikkelen die zich door de elektronische muziek beweegt, maar tegelijkertijd geworteld blijft in de dancefloor.

Craig Matthews is a Maltese DJ now based in Brussels, shaped by the groove-driven energy of 90s tech house and garage. With a background in live performance as a guitarist for Pebble Beach and years behind the decks as one half of CND, he has developed a natural, instinctive approach to selection. For him, it is about patience, timing and letting each record lead into the next in a way that feels effortless rather than forced. Alongside his time in Malta’s nightlife scene, he co-ran ‘The Usual Suspects’ series, creating space for more underground, groove-focused sounds. Now focusing on his solo project, Craig continues to evolve a sound that moves across electronic music while staying rooted in the dancefloor.

Been feeling super inspired since moving up to Brussels and I’m super excited to share some of tracks I’ve picked up over the last few months. Lots of good digging since landing here - s/o @crevetterecords , @sono.ventura.records , @emu__music and @docvinylbxl for the banging tracks and hospitality.

Been shifting into playing records a lot more over the last few years, and im very excited to be able to publish a lot of vinyl only sets over the next few months.
