Ariana Dalie and I have spent months pouring our hearts into this curation of our 4th festival at the gorgeous Elephant Thoughts Riverstone Retreat, in the town of Durham. Our goal was to create something that felt like more than just a concert—we wanted a weekend that honors storytelling, heritage, rock n roll, and the magic of being at Riverstone Retreat. Yep, @dalie_aripoems and I are incredibly proud of @fourwindsmusicfest! But behind this magical weekend is an incredible amount of work. Producing a 3-day music event comes with significant costs, from stage production, logistics, artist fees, every little thing and everything else in between. Buying a ticket will not only admit you to the gorgeous Riverstone Retreat to see amazing bands and have a beautiful experience, it also helps us cover the costs of putting on such an expansive event. We do it because we love it…bringing talented artists and music lovers together is good for us, our community, Canadian artists, and the whole eco system tied to the festival, including our awesome artisan and food vendors.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our sponsors and volunteers who help make this possible, we couldn’t do it without you. I discovered recently I’m a ‘polymath music producer,’ meaning an independent creator who’s mastered all the stages of music production chain at an industry standard level:- songwriting and arranging - recording & engineering - editing- mixing- mastering- instrument performance & programmingMeanwhile, I love making music and the process so much that I’m always learning and pushing myself to be better at it, and never feel like I’ve ‘mastered’ it. There’s always so much to discover.
