Amber's parents wanted to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and her mom's 70th birthday doing what they love - sailing the high seas on a cruise ship. So they took the whole family on the Quantum of the Seas with ports of call in Catalina and Ensenada...and I think we passed Skull Island along the way. Five days of buffets, sun-tanning, shopping, and laughs with the Klosses, Wardlaws, and Sortos. We got photos with a kaiju-sized bear on the ship, got to check out a defunct Cinepolis multiplex in Mexico (the marquee was still up!), and I ate my weight in desserts. Thank you Patty and Laurent, for everything! by @crambeilttog

Happy 8 years to my one of a kind. On this day, it was our very first date...And ever since, it's been critters, graboids, kaiju, rollercoasters, drive-in theatres, all night horrorthons, opening weekends, evening walks, travel plans, hearing a song on the radio and quizzing each other what movie it's from, working together on projects, feeding and fostering kitties, discovering new wines, cramming way too much into our weekly calendar, not always seeing eye to eye on when to get to the theatre, but always having all of the fun and looking forward to more.Together. I sure do love you. Eight wild, weird, and wonderful years, side by side. by @crambeilttog

Came across this record THREE times in the span of a week. Nearly bought it when we were in Palm Springs, then fellow Goldsmith fan and soundtrack aficionado @scribejr texted me that he found it a couple days ago, and it showed up again over the weekend.It's like the universe was trying to tell me something...or perhaps a darker, more sinister force at work. Insistent. Relentless. Well either way, I grabbed it. This is a great soundtrack. Some of Jerry's best work. by @crambeilttog

Saturday in Santa Ana for a Secret Slasher Triple Feature presented by @seeiton16mm at the @thefridacinemaAll three films released in 1981 from 16mm prints. The lineup? 45th Anniversary screenings of: THE PROWLER (d. Joseph Zito)STRANGE BEHAVIOR aka DEAD KIDS (d. Michael Laughlin)FRIDAY THE 13th PART II (d. Steve Miner) And everyone who stayed until the very end got to take home a film strip from the FRIDAY II print which Mike spent hours re-editing to restore the blood and gore that had been removed before. Well that wasn't too bad for a major ticket drop for one of the most anticipated films of the year. Couldn't decide on which format or when...so we're doing both on Opening Day:Matinee.
