This year’s Pumpkin Carve-Out creations were, as always, amazing. Thanks to the JCAS, Hanson Park Conservancy, everyone who contributed, and to the thousands who stopped by tonight!

We’ll share more pics tomorrow, but here’s a sampling of daylight highlights.

Tonight--and only tonight--it's the Cranford Carve-Out! As always, we’re expecting a big crowd. The trail entrance opens at 5:00 pm at Hanson Park and will close at 8:30 sharp. The JCAS does not want to disappoint anyone, but we need your understanding and cooperation. You'll likely need to be in line before 8:00–possibly earlier.

To ensure everyone can enjoy this year’s display, help us keep the line moving. Thank you for supporting this free and wonderful Cranford Halloween tradition from the Jersey Central Art Studios. taken in Hanson Park Conservancy by @cranfordjaycees

Time to unveil this year’s Track Friday shirt! These long sleeve tech shirts (as modeled by our event chair Eric Rubinson* and his wife) are available in mens, women, and youth sizes. 100% of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Cranford Police Athletic League @cranford.pal scholarship in honor of Will DeGregorio.

Order by Monday night and save more than 10%. We have to place our order early, and preordering helps guarantee we have your size ready for our 11th annual Track Friday on November 27th.

Preorder at the link in our bio @cranfordjaycees.

Many towns have costume contests. Some have Halloween parades. But who also throws pumpkins off a big fire truck?? Cranford does, and we’re doing it again Sunday, 10/25 at 1 PM at the community center.

The costume contest has awards by age: 0-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, & 10-17. And for families or groups, we have Best Duo or Trio and Best Group (4+ People). Winning one of these trophies is, arguably, the peak of childhood.

That’s followed by the Halloween parade to Downtown Cranford at 2:00 led by the CHS Marching Band and Color Guard.

And we conclude with the Pumpkin Chunkin’, where we chuck increasingly large pumpkins from increasingly high heights on a Cranford Fire Dept ladder truck, all to the screams of delight from the township’s children.

It’s a tradition 26 years strong. Don’t miss out! taken in Cranford, New Jersey by @cranfordjaycees

Oktoberfest is tonight starting at 5:00, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Know before you go...

1. BRING CASH for the 50/50, the CARNIVAL GAMES, and El Paso’s tacos & quesadillas. Food will also be available from Mister’s Food Truck.

2. BRING YOUR ID & TICKETS (either a printout or on your phone)

3. BE SAFE: If walking, don’t walk alone. If you’re using Uber or Lyft, use the Sperry Observatory as your drop off or pickup spot.

4. TABLE MAP: see final version at the end of this post

5. TIDY UP: please clean your space at night’s end and help us keep Union College’s campus clean.

Thank you for supporting the Cranford Jaycees Oktoberfest. All proceeds benefit local causes, including the Cranford First Aid Squad. We’ll keep the ticket window open all day at the link in our bio. taken in Cranford, New Jersey by @cranfordjaycees
