New Bike Day 🥹

He knew he was getting it. He still thought it was a dream.

There’s something pretty heartwarming about watching your kids get something this specail and seeing that excitement hit when it finally becomes real.

For us, bikes aren’t just bikes. They’re what get our kids outside, create family time, challenge them, give them something to work towards and let them explore just how capable they are.

And when they ride as much as our kids do, having a quality bike that can keep up with them and at the same time not hold them back really matters.

This one is built for where he’s heading next, and we cannot wait to see where it takes him.

Big thank you to The Mountain Biker for helping make New Bike Day so special. ✨️ by @crankecrew

Most people think balance bikes are just for learning to balance on the footpath. But this bike is different. It's built to handle real trails, real features, and real progression.

Because of that, Maggie gets to experience mountain biking in a way very few three-year-olds ever can.

It's not about sending the biggest jump... it's about giving kids the right tools to build confidence, skills, and a lifelong love of riding. by @crankecrew

Imagine having the thing you love most stolen right from your own property. 💔

One of our boys’ mates has had his bike stolen, and we’re hoping to help get him back on two wheels.

For kids who live and breathe bikes, it’s more than just a bike. It’s their freedom, their passion, their happy place, and a huge part of their everyday life.

We’ve started a GoFundMe to help him get back out there doing what he loves.

If you’re in a position to donate, every little bit helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can.

Let’s rally together as a bike community and help get this kid back on two wheels. ❤️🚲

Good cotton. Epic graphics. Shirts that get worn on repeat.

These two Dharco tees are his favourites. Nothing beats the comfort of a quality cotton T-shirt, especially when the graphics are this good.

Perfect for everyday wear and even better out on the trails.

Which graphic is your favourite? 👀 by @crankecrew

Finding a toothpaste with the ingredients I wanted was easy. Finding one my whole family would actually use? Not so much.

I'd been searching for a hydroxyapatite toothpaste for ages. I'd found a few that looked great on paper, but the sweetness was too much and nobody wanted to use them.

Then I came across Peg Paste at our local health store.

Now we order directly from them, and I'm so glad we found them.

Their kids' line has been a hit with our little crew, and Brodie is absolutely stoked with the Intense Mint. 😂

Hydroxyapatite was the biggest thing on my list, but I also love finding an Australian brand that ticks so many of the boxes I've been looking for.

Because what's the point of finding a product with all the ingredients you want if your family won't use it?

Sometimes it's the little everyday things that make the biggest difference to our routines.

Have you tried hydroxyapatite toothpaste? by @crankecrew

Seventeen Seventy 🌅 The place we’ve come back to every year since our very first visit, and for good reason.

Our little old caravan, the kayaks, the kids’ BMX bikes and a campground right on the bay side 🚣‍♀️

Our days are spent adventuring on the water, chasing marine life, discovering new things and collecting the kind of experiences you just can’t plan. Then we finish the day watching what I genuinely think are the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever seen.

The kids make new friends who ride around the campground together, and sometimes, those friendships turn into familiar faces we look forward to seeing again the following year.

But I think my favourite part is looking back through our photos. Seeing how much the kids have grown, remembering the little personalities they had at each age, the stages we were navigating, the beautiful moments and even the frustrating ones 🤣

Because this place is becoming part of their childhood. And I just know that one day, when they’re grown, these will be some of the memories they look back on most fondly. We even talk about the day they’ll bring their own kids here.

Until next year, 1770. 🤍

I have SO many photos of our kids sitting in my phone, and so many memories I never want us to forget.

But actually getting them printed and onto our walls has taken a back seat. We've been so particular about protecting the walls in our rental that it's been easier to leave them sitting in my camera roll.

Then I started looking into the research around family photos and children's sense of identity, belonging and personal history.

One thing that stood out to me was how looking through photographs and talking about shared memories can help children understand their own stories and where they fit into their family.

And it made me realise these photos aren't just sentimental things for us parents. They're memories our kids can revisit, stories they can ask questions about, and little reminders of the adventures and people that make up their world.

So we're finally finding ways to bring those memories into our home, with beautiful, easy-to-use pieces that let us display our favourite photos without worrying about damaging the walls in our rental.

Because these little moments are their childhood, too.

Do you print your family photos, or are yours living in your camera roll too? 👀 by @crankecrew

$599 for a bike lock… I know. It sounds insane.

But honestly, the more I think about it, the more I understand it.

Because when mountain biking is this ingrained in who you are, losing a bike isn’t just losing an expensive piece of equipment.

It’s losing something you’ve spent years riding, learning on and building memories around.

For us, our bikes are freedom. They’re how we explore, how we challenge themselves, how we spend time with with each other and how stay grounded.

The thought of some low life taking that away in a few minutes honestly makes my blood boil.

And after watching multiple people we know have their bikes stolen, bike security has started feeling a lot less optional.

What caught my attention about the Raklox Dually?

It’s designed to secure two bikes without wrapping a chain around the frame, and with extra steerer tube anchors, we can move the system between whichever bikes we need to secure.

Because I’d much rather spend money protecting our bikes than spend months trying to replace something that means so much to us.

Would you spend $599 to protect your bikes?

NO MORE ROCK HOPPING!

These might be some of the grumpiest looking fish I’ve ever seen 😂

We came across three stonefish while kayaking and swimming, and I honestly couldn’t get over how well they camouflage themselves.

A massive reminder of how observant we need to be when we’re swimming and exploring the water.

Stonefish are ambush predators. They sit incredibly still, blending into rocks and reef, and wait for prey to come close enough to suck it in.

They have 13 spines along their back that are venomous and used as a defence when the fish is threatened.

Exploring is what we love doing, but knowing what’s around us and what to do if something goes wrong is part of the adventure too.

I’ve got so much more to share about these weird little reef rocks, so follow along and come learn with us! by @crankecrew
