Nago smashed it with some nasty horn breakdowns to secure 1st place for the week, AND the season leaderboard so far.This week’s topic is Vocal Scratching + beat juggling. You have to do BOTH! Throwback @vekked My Ray Ban Vision beat juggle from 2012. This routine won me a lot of battles. I probably would’ve had 2 less world titles without it. It holds a special place in my heart because it felt like my first “real” beat juggle that wasn’t just re-hashing patterns from the 90s. Fun fact (well not fun at the time) - because I always did the DMC Supremacy and it was on vinyl/no Serato allowed, for every year I had to have 2 versions of every routine… the “normal” version that I would do in Serato, and the “vinyl” version with no effects or loops or anything. If you swipe ⬅️ you’ll see the ending for the vinyl version that replaced the loop roll breakdown. That platter off version is the actual one that helped me win the DMC Battle for Supremacy world title that year, and the original version is what got me my Canadian DMC title and my first IDA world title. I’m glad I don’t have to make multiple endings for the same routine anymore 😅. The Flip or Flop drum scratch week champion is Nago 🏆!! The previous season Champ + multiple time world finalist came through with a rapid fire technical drum scratch routine with a little bass loop sauce thrown on top to clinch their first W of the season and shoot up the leaderboard 🚀This week’s top is FADERLESS and PLATTER OFF routines! Scratch or beat juggling is allowed. Routines are due Sunday at 5pm EST.Producers have to turn in a 60 second beat and 30 second scratch tool for Saturday at noon EST.We’re at the half way point of the season but the scores are so close that you can still enter and end up in the top 2 in either the DJ or producer categories with 1 good week!
