New music incoming…
A lone boat moored in the night, the autumn waters silent and deep. Suddenly, the desolate sound of strings drifts across the river, shattering the heavy mist.

”The thick strings clatter like a sudden rainstorm; the thin strings murmur like a hidden whisper. Plucking and strumming, they mingle and intertwine—like pearls, large and small, cascading onto a plate of jade.“

The concept of Jade traces its origins to the eternal resonance of the classic poem, Pipa Xing. Within the work, the heavy impacts of electronic synthesis and the crisp, acoustic tremolo of the Pipa intertwine, manifesting as those scattered ”large and small pearls.“ Grounded tightly in the granular, tactile texture of plucked strings, the sonic architecture is distilled into three evolving dimensions: point, line, and plane. From the crisp ”points“ of sporadic string touches, it weaves into the kinetic ”lines“ of pulling electronic grooves, before finally sinking into the ”plane“ of a deeply resonant and enveloping low-frequency soundscape. by @craveeeesound

CICADA-crave
Faint chirps hidden amid branches and leaves, the unceasing bass hum of endless night.

Cicada is an electronic piece blending traditional Chinese ethnic folk music, with core samples taken from Dong Grand Song Song of the Cicadas. This work digitally reimagines vivid cicada chirps and folk vocal lines, bringing the liveliness of nature to the foreground.

As low frequencies vibrate through your chest, the line between reality and soundscape fades away. May every soul transform into a woodland creature echoing in harmony, resonating in lockstep with the cicada’s song.
In this moment, you become part of the cicada’s hymn.

REBORN by crave/HZ
What if Chinese ancient hero Huang Zhong had been equipped with cybernetic enhancements and a machine gun during the Battle of Mount Dingjun?

”Reborn“ is a collision between the ancient and the future: a fusion of traditional Chinese ethnic percussion and electronic music, a clash between real instruments and synthesizers. This piece creates a dialogue between past and present, portraying a futuristic yet distinctly Chinese heroic image while depicting scenes from the battlefield.

This is my work, ”Echoes of the Towers“.

Have you ever listened to the pulse of Beijing?
The inspiration for this piece comes from these two ancient buildings.
”Bell and Drum Towers“ aims to use the power of music to bring you back to the hutongs of old Beijing, back to the streets, to hear the sounds of bells and drums, to feel the pulse of the ancient city. We hope you find it exhilarating, as if you yourself are under the old city walls, enjoying the unique charm of Beijing‘s original bricks and tiles.

This year at E Night, I not only performed my original music, but also designed all visuals, tickets and playbills.

I drew inspiration from everyday life, highlighting light reflections and material textures. The tickets are designed after ANA boarding passes. More than an entry ticket, it’s a precious souvenir. Standing for journeys, goodbyes and new starts, it matches the vibe of our graduation concert: we hold the past in our hands, and head toward the future. A fun 2026 E Night Easter egg is hidden in the QR code too!

I used glass and frosted glass details on playbills, hoping to deliver real, touchable textures instead of plain flat designs.

It’s my 5th year with E Night. From performing music to designing visuals, I finally led the whole design team this year. Huge thanks to Sister Xuan for giving me the freedom to pursue my other interests.

I know I still need to polish my layout, printing and material choices, but I’m really happy with this new start.

Join us at Communication University of China on June 16 & 17! 🎵
