Formula One. Drifting. All on the South Mall this Saturday. 🏁

Red Bull Homerun is bringing a full-on festival of motorsport to the heart of Cork, and it’s built around one of our own. Conor Shanahan is coming home to celebrate his latest Drift Masters title, and he’s bringing James Deane, Jack Shanahan and Conor Falvey with him.

Then there’s the RB7, the Oracle Red Bull Racing car that won the 2011 Formula One World Championships, driven by former F1 driver Patrick Friesacher. It’s not a sound you’ll hear in Cork every day.

Something special is being made in West Cork 🎬

Backing Cork art is something we’re passionate about at Craving Cork, so we are thrilled to be getting behind this one.

Deoraí is an Irish-language short film shooting on Cape Clear this December, made by a Cork crew. It follows a young man who leaves the island and comes home years later, to the father and the language he walked away from.

Irish is slowly slipping away on our islands, and this film is about keeping it alive in the places that matter most.

Every shopping centre has its characters and @blackpoolshoppingcork certainly has a few.. 👀😂

And who better to find them than @shanecasey123 😏

Actor extraordinaire and reformed Young Offender, Shane knows a thing or two about memorable characters, so he took it upon himself to give Kilian a break and meet some of the real characters of Blackpool Shopping Centre.

There’s been plenty of change around the centre, with new signage, refreshed spaces and improvements taking shape as part of the ongoing refurbishment.

But while the surroundings are getting a fresh look, the people and places that give Blackpool its personality aren’t going anywhere.

The familiar faces. The long-standing businesses. The quick chats, local catch-ups and the convenience of having everything on your doorstep.

New look. Same characters. Same community spirit.

Long before Cork jerseys, @hoggie088 was just one of the many kids growing up around Blackpool - and spending plenty of time in the shopping centre.

For Patrick, @blackpoolshoppingcork is more than just a shopping centre. Having grown up in the area, it’s a place filled with memories; from days spent there as a young lad to seeing it become such an important part of the local community.

Now, Patrick is getting to see Blackpool enter a new chapter.
In our latest video, Patrick looks back at what Blackpool Shopping Centre has meant to him over the years and shares why he’s looking forward to seeing it refreshed and ready for the future.
