@drifthalifax experience has gotten so much better! I went for brunch last weekend after the brewery market and I was SO impressed.

So much of the dishes used local NS ingredients which always makes me happy to see, especially when there is classic NS chow for the fish cakes!

As a generational Leafs Fan, this day is so exciting.

I remember the “SCORE!!!!!!!!!” from my dad when we watched games when I was a kid. I remember wearing some of these same jerseys playing ball hockey in the cul de sac as a lil kid. I remember having games on in the background when I was studying in university, I remember my first training camp and first game (there have been many since, and I’m so grateful).

From watch parties to the real games, the spirit and passion are always there.

Beyond excited for this season to see what McKenna can do!

But my fav player current will always be THE Morgan Rielly (OG Mats Sundin!)

Some of my favourite memories come from the leafs training camp and games - such a treat to have Lou Lamoriello and Jacques Lemaire sign Greg’s jersey at the training camp years ago…. Also imagine tie domi chirping your partner because he’s a devils fan…. Insane.

One of the most asked questions I get is why do I go to the same restaurants a lot?

Because I know I won’t be disappointed, I know I’ll enjoy myself and I know what I am getting for my $$.

When I go to Sketti and Ball I know I’m getting delicious house made bolognese and delicious bread with herb and garlic butter.

My order doesn’t change, but I go at least 2x a month because it genuinely makes me happy.

Sometimes it’s not about trying something new every time you go out, it’s the comfort of knowing the food is going to be damn good each time!

Sketti and Ball is on Argyle St in downtown Halifax and is one of the legendary hospitality restaurants (Nellys, Antojos etc) and from the owners to the managers to the servers, they are all so welcoming and it’s not unusual to see Jon slinging a beer or two!

One of the best restaurants in the HRM is @thecanteenns .. and we even had a special treat!

On a rare chance we were able to grab a seat by walking in, after visiting the market, we were sat in their second room and were able to see the owner hunkering down making their own bread.. now I know that sounds simple but having a successful restaurant and still being such a huge part is incredible to see. Their love and passion is what keeps The Canteen packed!

Highly recommend booking a reservation and having brunch there. Supporting local tastes so good! So much flavour!

It’s been super rare for anyone to say negative things to me during my IVF process.

Surprisingly all of these come from people in my personal life.. including my mother in law.

IVF is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, I’m so grateful for the girls who have been in my corner - especially @michellelcaldwell_ who has held my hand through literally every moment

Boudoir photos are so much more than just pretty pictures. They’re little snapshots of you, your body, your confidence, your energy, your essence.

Taking these with @__empower.her right before starting my IVF journey was something I didn’t realize I would one day be so grateful for. I hoped they would remind me but I didn’t realize how much I’d look back on them.

Boudoir has this magic way of reminding you just how powerful you are.

When I look at these photos, I don’t just see my body. I remember the body that went to Pilates 4 times a week and volunteered so much and loved her friends and her family. It’s more than photos.

I remember the laughs at the shoot. The confidence. How comfortable I felt in my own skin. How much I genuinely loved myself in that moment.

And honestly? Choosing a photographer who makes you feel safe enough to get out of your shell is EVERYTHING. 🫶🏼

Boudoir is so much more than “spicy” photos. It’s about celebrating yourself exactly as you are, and giving future you a little reminder of how fierce you’ve always been.

It’s been in my bucket list for years to go to @mermaidfoodcb in Cape Breton and I finally got there last weekend! The owner is an absolute angel and literally is in the kitchen cooking up a storm. You won’t see her but you’ll taste her passion!

Selkie’s is the cutest lil spot and one of the most authentic restaurants I’ve ever been to.

If you’re looking for great food, baked goods, an incredible atmosphere of love and happiness pls check them out in Sydney!
