Can anyone identify the moniker on the inside of ATSF 233980, a wooden boxcar with steel ends? I scoured my library and came up with nothing. Any idea when the boxcar would have been taken out of service? All information helps! Photo taken at The Lessman Farm & Truckhenge in Topeka, KS on Saturday, 10/10/26.

Creative railroad employee artwork as seen in Boston & Maine caboose C72-R. Luckily, the volunteers at the #railroadmuseumofnewengland had enough appreciation for this tongue-in-cheek employee statement to not paint over it.

This type of art is yet another aspect of railroading and rail culture that needs to be documented and preserved. It tells its own story and is as much a part of railroad history as the equipment upon which it is drawn.
