Massive shock to absolutely nobody: I’m still loudly, unapologetically, hopelessly obsessed with the @alty_aces .
And this season? I’m buzzing to be partnering with the team again for gameday photos — plus a few surprises that may or may not involve me sprinting around the rink like a caffeinated goblin with a camera.
I’m stupidly proud to support this team.
The heart, the chaos, the energy — it’s everything I love about hockey wrapped into one loud, fast, occasionally terrifying package.
Season’s about to kick off and I cannot wait to see what the team brings to the ice this year.
LET’S GO ACES!!!

🚨 ONE LAST GAME! 🚨

Three games. Three nights. Questionable energy levels. Zero intention of stopping. 😈🏒
Tonight the @bulldogsihc roll into town to face the @alty_aces .
Can the Bulldogs keep barking?
Or will the Aces take the bark out of them? 🐶👀
The hockey gods have already been treated to a weekend of chaos, goals, hits and general gremlin behaviour, but apparently they're demanding one more sacrifice.
To get everyone warmed up, here's a few from last season's matchups.
See you at the rink 🏒🔥

It's Friday. The working week is nearly dead. Hockey is alive. 🏒😈

Tonight sees @mancmetros B take on the Mavericks, and the hockey gremlins are once again being released onto the ice.

Before that, here's a few from last week's B's vs C's clash to get the energy levels where they need to be.

Fast skates. Big effort. Questionable decision-making. The perfect hockey recipe.

Let's have it. 💙🔥

Action? ✅ Intensity? ✅ Chaos? ✅✅✅

The last game had plenty of everything, just not quite the scoreline we were after. Never mind though... because the @alty_aces are back at it TWICE this weekend.

No time for sulking. No time for overthinking.

Just hockey gremlin behaviour. 🏒😈

Here's some of the action from the last outing.

A week ago: "What a beautiful day for MTB racing at @fjmtb ."

Today: "I should probably build an ark."

Here's a select few to Remind us what the sun looks like.

Manchester weather remains undefeated. 🌧️😂

ACES BACK ON HOME ICE
Sutton Sting incoming
Gremlin energy rising

Break’s over — time to see if the @alty_aces can take the sting out of Sutton and cause some premium‑grade chaos.

Dropping a few from last year + this season to set the vibe.
Let’s make tonight loud.

METROS TONIGHT!!!!
@mancmetros B vs Metros C
Internal chaos. Zero chill. Maximum gremlin.

Could this hit Battle‑of‑Oxford‑Road levels?
The gremlin says: maybe… hopefully… please.

It’s gonna be a late one.
It’s gonna be a fun one.
Let’s cause problems on purpose.

Day 2 behind the camera. Race 2 of the weekend.
Current status: ✅ Taking photos
✅ Standing in bushes
✅ Getting covered in mud
✅ Judging everyone's line choices
Will I miss racing?
Let's just say every time a rider disappears into the distance I get a sudden urge to abandon the camera and borrow a bike. 🚲😂
In the meantime, check out Roots & Rains for the photos from today's racing action!

One last weekend of two‑wheeled madness before the bikes get a well‑earned nap.
@mbmxclub are throwing in bonus races, because apparently we all needed more adrenaline, and @fjmtb are wrapping up the final round of the legendary Stockport World Series — yes, the most dramatic world series ever held.
Two days. Two races.
I’ll be out there chasing riders, dodging roost, and pretending I have functioning knees.
Keep an eye on Roots & Rain for the end results — photos, chaos, and probably evidence of my poor life choices.
Let’s send it one last time. 🚲💥 #BMX #MBMX #Manchesterbmxclub #clubracing

Season’s well and truly here and I can feel my brain doing that little bzzt bzzt it does when the @mancmetros start sharpening their skates again.
Last year I had an absolute blast watching them and occasionally sprinting around the rink like a caffeinated goblin with a camera.

And guess what?
We’re doing it all again.
More late Friday nights.
More chaos behind the glass.
More “why is my lens fogging at the exact worst moment”.
Worth. Every. Second.

Dumping a few of my favourites from last season because the gremlin demands enrichment.
