SnowShoe World Cup UCI XCM, muddy, mossy, magical gotta love some classic wild and wonderful West Virginia racing. After some awesome wet and muddy conditions going in and out of the clouds I finished the day in 26th in the pro field for my first ever World Cup finish. Stoked to have gotten the opportunity to race and thanks to all those that put this event and and all the course marshals who had to sit in the woods. 🇺🇸 taken in West Virginia by @crazykransz

Easing back into some structured work.

Still keeping things pretty controlled, but it feels good to have intervals back in the week. Earlier this year I waited too long to bring them in and learned my lesson. This time I’m getting them started earlier and hoping it pays off later in the season.

This year’s been a wild one.

After moving to California and getting married last year, I finally started putting together a real training block — then came sickness, a broken rib at Sea Otter, getting laid off, and another job change.

Still had a few glimpses of what I’m capable of though.

Quick off-season done. Back to building for 2027. 🚲

Lost & Found - Pro Men 22nd

99 miles, 99°F, at elevation.

The race started controlled before the pace ramped up and the early selections began. I let the big surges go, rode my own race, and spent most of the day bouncing between groups, aid stations, and trying to stay ahead of the heat.
By hour four the thought of another gel made me sick, so it became a game of maple syrup, Coke, ice down the jersey, and pouring water over my head at every aid station.
Somehow I never cracked. The final 30 miles were still hard, but I was able to keep pushing and pick riders off all the way to the finish.
Not the result I came for, but after the Sea Otter crash, a long rebuild, and one of the hottest races I’ve ever done, I’m happy with the fight.
Now it’s time for a mid-season reset and then onto the next block.

Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail… and sometimes you’re the hammer that hits something it definitely shouldn’t, like the ground.

Made a mistake 23 miles in at 30+ mph and got a firsthand taste of Sea Otter gravel. Managed to push through another 45 miles before calling it quits (turns out you can’t safely ride with a hand you can’t feel 😬).

Bummed that Sea Otter ended in a DNF and a few bumps and bruises, but still stoked, I came into the race with the highest power numbers and best fitness I’ve ever had. It’s taken a lot of grinding over the past few years to get here, and it’s starting to pay off.

Now it’s time to heal up and get back out there.
