SHOOTING ATHLETES TRAINING ⤵️

Here are 4 things I always look to capture when shooting athletes training📸:

1) Detail: I always try to grab the little things people might normally overlook. The grip on a dumbbell, sweat, shoes, weights being loaded, or even certain parts of the equipment. These shots might seem simple, but they help fill in the gaps and give the full gallery more depth. 🎯

2) Energy: This is where I start looking beyond just the workout. A coach getting hype, teammates pushing each other, reactions after a tough set, those moments show what it actually felt like to be in the gym. Sometimes the best shot has nothing to do with the actual exercise. ⚡️

3) Motion: Everything doesn’t have to be tack sharp. I like slowing my shutter down, panning with the athlete, and letting some motion blur happen. When it’s done right, you can actually feel the speed and explosiveness of the movement through a still photo. 🏃🏽‍♂️

4) Action: Of course, I still want the clean action shot. I’m usually waiting for the peak of the movement, the point where the athlete looks the strongest and the exercise reads the best. Timing that moment is what turns a regular workout photo into a strong sports image. 💪🏽
