〰️ Ripples of Grief 〰️

In 2020, my sister Britt created Unlax Candles after finding comfort in burning candles following the passing of our pop. Through Unlax Candles, Britt opened up conversations and raised awareness about the often unspoken topic of grief. She brought comfort to so many people during their own journeys of grief.

Britt created a ripple effect after sharing her own journey through grief. She taught us all how to grieve and reminded us that we are not alone.

In March this year, Britt sadly passed away. There are no words to express the amount of pain and heartbreak left by the loss of Britt.

Trying to live in a world without her has been the hardest thing I will ever have to go through. When Britt died, so did parts of myself.

Since her passing, I have been trying to navigate through my own journey of grief. Britt taught me how to grieve - although I never imagined that she would be the one helping me grieve her.

Following Britt’s advice, I have been expressing my grief through art. Art has become an avenue for my grief and has helped me to start to heal. When I am painting, I feel connected to Britt and am able to tune out the world around me. It has become an escape for me from the constant noise and intense feelings.

Through sharing my art with others, I hope to continue the ripple effect that Britt has created around the journey of grief.

This artwork “Ripples of Grief” portrays the impact Britt continues to have on so many people. It symbolises the ripples that she has created which will never fade and continue to get stronger and reach others. The colours are inspired by a photo I have with both my sisters, which I light a candle next to every night.

This artwork is created with acrylic paint on stretched canvas and the dimensions are 40”x30”.

A special day today getting to unveil this artwork for GEPS! 💛💚

Through a workshop with the students, we created a story that represents them and their school community. I then brought those ideas to life through this artwork and digitised it so it can be used throughout the school.

It was such a fun project to be part of, and it was so lovely getting to officially reveal it to the school today. by @create.ripples

A recent artwork I created for the Giant Steps Gala Ball! This artwork is part of the silent auction with all proceeds going directly to Giant Steps and supporting the incredible work they do.

Artwork description:

This artwork, titled ‘Community of Strength’ represents the families of Giant Steps and the individual journeys each of them are on. The large circles represent a collective family unit. Within these circles, we see each family member represented as a U-shape, who meet around the Autism community gathering places. Whilst every individual is on their own journey, and some families may no longer be a single family unit, their shared connections hold them together.

The symbols layered throughout the background represent the moments, memories, and shared experiences that shape each family’s journey, reflecting the unconditional love and ongoing support of parents, siblings, friends, and extended family. Every family’s path is unique, shaped by their own experiences, challenges, and moments of strength. These gathering places reflect that individuality, no two journeys are the same. At the same time, the artwork speaks to a deeper shared understanding. While each family walks their own path, they are not alone.

The work acknowledges both the beauty and the complexity of these journeys. It honours the challenges families face, while gently reminding them that others within the Giant Steps community are walking alongside them, even when the path feels isolating.

Through this, the artwork becomes a reflection of collective strength, connection, and support. It is a visual reminder that community holds us together, and that shared understanding can bring comfort, resilience, and strength. by @create.ripples

National Reconciliation Week 2026!

Feeling very grateful to have attended and been part of several events over the past week. It was lovely connecting with so many people, meeting new people, and engaging in meaningful conversations around reconciliation.

It was also wonderful to launch two recent artworks I created for Interflow and Ascham School, both of which have been such meaningful projects to be part of.

In honour of International Women’s Day, I wanted to share this artwork I created called Matriarchs. It celebrates the strength, knowledge and care that women carry and pass down through generations.

Matriarchs (1219mm x 1219mm)

This artwork represents women’s business and the journey of women across generations. The gathering circles show spaces where women come together to share knowledge, support one another and pass on wisdom. The three layers within each gathering circle represent the past, present and future, while the gold stars honours ancestral knowledge that continues to guide us.

Flowing pathways reflect the journeys women walk through life. Coolamons, bush foods and gathering places throughout the piece highlight women as providers, carers and knowledge holders. The circles represent women coming together to yarn, teach and hold one another, acknowledging the strength, resilience and power that comes from women walking together. by @create.ripples

Toyota: Driven By Happiness
It was an incredible honour to create this artwork for Toyota Australia @toyota_aus ! Inspired by Toyota’s global vision of happiness, this piece tells a story of journey, connection and shared purpose. It honours the past, present and future of Toyota.

Driven By Happiness
Flowing through the centre of the artwork is a red pathway representing Toyota’s journey into the future. Along this path are three interconnected gathering places symbolising the past, present and future, surrounded by people shown through the “U” symbol to represent Toyota’s staff, customers and community.

Surrounding the pathway are vibrant dots that represent happiness and connection, reflecting Toyota’s commitment to creating happiness for all. There are six colours in this section, one for each of the six elements of happiness. Flowing waterways in the corners symbolise Toyota’s global connections between Australia and Japan, while the red section represents Country and Toyota’s dedication to caring for people, the environment and society.

This artwork represents Toyota’s story, honouring its past, celebrating the present and looking ahead with excitement for the future. It acknowledges the history that has shaped Toyota and how the future continues to build upon it. Moving forward, this piece serves as a reminder that creating happiness for all remains central to everything Toyota does. by @create.ripples
