Throwback to this day last year,
A few years ago, life flipped on me during my BSc at Bowen. I made a bold decision that many didn’t understand and I paid the price. I was mocked. Misjudged. Even became the black sheep in my own home. But I stayed the course… with trembling hands, a heavy heart, and tear-stained pillows. It came with pain. Silence. Isolation. But it also came with purpose.
Years later, I returned to do a Master’s in the course I truly wanted and last year, I wore the crown. I made God and my family proud. Most importantly, I made peace with the girl who once thought she ruined her life.
This degree is not just paper. It’s a thank-you gift to my family for loving me loudly and praying for me quietly. And to my incredible grandaunt, Iyabode Oniyide, this is for you. Thank you for every sleepless night, for treating me like your own, and for breaking cycles when you took me in. I love you so much❤️
To my parents and siblings, thank you for believing in me, for letting me make my choices even when they didn’t make sense to anyone else, for supporting me financially, and for fighting to see this dream through. I love you endlessly.
To my besties back home and the friends I made in the UK, thank you for making sure my emotional and mental health didn’t shatter under pressure. You made it easier to breathe on days when I felt like drowning. To the ones who hurt me but helped me grow, thank you too. Your fire revealed my strength.
If you knew the full story, you’d join me in thanking God. Every single person who played a role in this journey was sent by Him, and I return all the glory to the One who orchestrated it all. I haven’t arrived yet, but doors are opening and I know His hand is all over my story.

Healing isn’t just about becoming a better version of yourself for YOU. Sometimes, it’s about becoming a better version of yourself for the people watching you. ❤️

Intentional parenting means doing the work, Breaking cycles, Checking yourself, Learning, Apologising and Showing up even on the days you’re falling apart inside.

Our children didn’t ask to be here. We made that decision for them. So I pray we have the grace, wisdom and strength to give them the love, safety and foundation they deserve.

And to every mum and dad quietly doing the work… God bless you.

Nobody may see the silent tears, the sacrifices, the hard decisions or the days you have to pick yourself up and keep going.

This isn’t just a workout, it’s where I heal. ❤️‍🩹

Some days I walk with joy, some days with tears, and some days carrying fears that no one else can see. 🤍

For me, walking isn’t just about fitness or burning calories. It’s my safe place. It’s where I decompress, process my emotions, quiet the noise, pray, breathe, and remind myself that I can keep going. 🙏🏾✨

Healing isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about giving yourself permission to feel, to process, to grow, and to rise again. 🌱❤️‍🩹

I put in the application, laboured until exhaustion, pushed past every limit, and kept going even when I had nothing left to give. I cried until there were no more tears, questioned everything in between, and still chose not to quit.
And somehow, through it all, I made it out. Not just alive, but victorious, with a First Class degree.
