Update: I turned 9 years sober last week and didn’t even realize it! I’ve been so busy with the opening of the new @swedishhillaustin coming THIS WEEK in Westlake that I didn’t even realize it was my sober birthday! Though it’s nothing I think about daily (or much at all) anymore, I’m grateful to not be the person I was 10 years ago. If you or anyone you know is struggling, please reach out! One for the books! Never thought I’d be doing a 10k but here we are.. Had a blast! (even if Tania beat me! 🤣) Thanks @mmlhospitality for making it happen! Did it in 1 hour and 16 minutes. To my fellow MEN over 40… Make sure you go and get your colon cancer screening! Yes, no one likes the thought of a colonoscopy, but I’ll tell you what- they found a polyp and removed it on site. Tests just came back and it was indeed benign! Had I not gone for the procedure, it would still be there, and what’s dangerous about that?.. It could’ve become precancerous and so on… Thank God it has been removed. Stay strong and healthy my fellow Men! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

We set out to set a distance PR. We were going for 50 miles. And we were more than halfway there! Had gotten through the biggest climb of our riding career, Volente.. The hardest part of the ride was over. We were out of the hills and now in Cedar Park. Then BAM! I crashed. Hard. Ride over. Visit to the ER. Minor concussion. Luckily that was all. Thank God for that helmet and my ability to take a fall. I can’t help but think it’s all that yoga practice that allowed me to allow my body to relax into the fall as I flipped over my handle bars full speed ahead. Bike is in the shop and also only needs a new chain ring. A few minor cosmetic scratches but she’s good to go! Next week we set out once again on the same ride, this time to break the record! Celebrated the cold front with some warming Thai style soups. First try at a Tom Kha Gai, and then a green curry style soup with chicken. What better in cold winter days than hot soup!?! 🥣 🍲
