I can’t lie, walking through the British Museum is wild. The scale of it, the history that’s in there. It’s heavy.

You’re standing there looking at civilizations from thousands of years ago, all in one building. It’s impressive, no doubt.

But then you gotta keep it real with yourself about how all this stuff got here. It’s like walking through a trophy room for the Empire.

You looking at the Benin Bronzes or stuff from Egypt, and you know they didn’t just hand that over. It’s stolen goods on display. So you’re caught in the middle of feeling appreciation for the greatness of the art, but knowing the history behind it is foul.

It’s beautiful and disrespectful at the same time.

There’s something about walking through a park and watching everything slow down that shifts your own pace.

Everything seemed present, unbothered, and still in their own way, and sitting with that made me realize how rarely I allow myself to do the same.

We’re so used to treating stillness like wasted time, when in reality it’s often what gives us the energy and clarity to move forward later.

Sometimes doing nothing is exactly what helps you do more.

⚠️ Everyone is going somewhere ⚠️

London moves fast.
Not rushed, but intentional movement.

Everyone’s going somewhere.
To work. To meet someone. To disappear for a little bit.

I like watching the contrast.
The people in motion.
But buildings stand still.

London doesn’t care if you stop.
But it gives you space when you do.

Sometimes walking is just a way to listen.

Architectural Observations

One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to walk around the streets and take photos. It helps me get a feel for the city I’m in, the people that live in it and the energy that the city has as a whole at any given moment.

While walking I can’t help but notice the architecture of any given place. I’ve always loved how we as humans have decided to leave our marks of creativity on everything we do. In this case, homes, office buildings, museums, and even historical sites.

Architecture is proof to me that as much as the world shits on creative people, undervalues us or thinks of us as replaceable. Nobody wants to look at basic objects, buildings, clothing, designs, etc.

Creativity is such a big part of our world that everyone takes it for granted and thinks that anybody can create the same way. But when I stroll through various cities across this beautiful planet, I’m made very aware that creativity is the most important aspect of our society.

A few days ago I had the honor of capturing some moments from @BalletManila’s stage rehearsal for the iconic ballet, Don Quixote.

Every time I have the opportunity to film ballet I am always excited for what amazing movements I will witness.

After being in the Philippines for a few days, I realize that island culture is very similar no matter what part of the world you’re in. The food, music, and languages might be different but the energy seems to be the same.

Everyone here seems to prioritize an easy life with family and friends over the rat race in more western countries. As I’ve gotten older I resonate more with this kind of life–or maybe I’m just coming back to my Caribbean/Island roots.

Either way, I’m really enjoying my time here 🇵🇭

Last year, I had my first opportunity to collaborate and shoot with a ballet company here in LA called @WestSideBallet.

Even though I was not as familiar with the intricacies of ballet, my martial arts background immediately helped me understand the skill that these young men and women possess to be able to move their bodies with so much grace and control.

Since then I’ve had the honor of shooting more ballet over the years and while I still may not understand the art completely, I have found a new appreciation and respect for it.
