I recently had the incredible opportunity to explore North Cascades National Park with the NPCA team, immersing myself in the awe-inspiring landscapes that could once again be home to grizzly bears.

This experience allowed me to truly understand the ripple effect that reintroducing grizzly bears to the North Cascades can have on the ecosystem.

These magnificent creatures are more than just a symbol of the wild; they are ecosystem engineers.

Grizzly bears are known as "keystone species," meaning their presence has a disproportionately large impact on the ecosystem.

🫐By foraging for food, they help in cycling nutrients through the soil, promoting plant diversity and health.

🐻Their digging and rooting around create microhabitats, providing opportunities for other species to thrive.

🌱 And if you didn’t know — grizzlies are incredible seed dispersers. As they feed on fruits and traverse vast landscapes, they inadvertently sow seeds in new locations, contributing to a rich and diverse plant life.

This, in turn, supports a variety of wildlife, creating a more balanced and resilient thriving ecosystem.
Additionally, their predatory habits keep other animal populations in check, ensuring a healthy balance within the food web.

By influencing the behavior and population of other species, grizzlies indirectly shape the landscape, promoting a thriving and dynamic environment.
Bringing grizzlies back to the North Cascades is not just about conserving one species; it's about rejuvenating an entire ecosystem.

Let's actively work for a future that recognizes the interconnectedness of all living beings. I encourage you all to tap the link attached to support Alternative C and make a difference. 🐻🌲

Visit the @visitsanjuans they say… well let me tell you something — run don’t walk!😍

What an incredible day trip we had to the San Juan Islands yesterday.

We got to see some epic views while on some hikes & spotted multiple foxes 🦊 in their natural habitat.

This little buddy was posing so perfectly while sunbathing I couldn’t resist snapping a shot! 😍

$80 permit, one unexpected rainstorm, a whole lot of mud, and views that made every single step worth it. 🌧️🥾🌿

Hiking the Nā Pali Coast was another reminder that sometimes the best experiences come when you keep pushing, even when things get a little sticky. Literally. 😂

Do the hard things. Take the hike. Get caught in the rain. The view might just be worth it. 🌺⛰️

This is the Florida they never show you.

Not the theme parks. Not the traffic. Not the headlines.

The Florida that existed long before any of that. The one that’s still here if you know where to look.

Spanish moss hanging so heavy it bends the light. Sinkholes so still they look like mirrors dropped into the earth. Mangroves older than anything we’ve built. Springs so clear you can see 30 feet down and feel like time stopped.

This land held the Timucua, who navigated these same waterways by dugout canoe and built shell mounds that still stand today. The Tocobaga along Tampa Bay. The Calusa in the south, who built towering shell mounds, engineered canals, and ruled about 20,000 to 50,000 people before most of the world knew this place existed.

The Seminole, who refused to surrender and disappeared into these swamps on purpose, because they knew what this land was worth.

They knew something we keep forgetting.

That this place is sacred. That it’s irreplaceable. That once you pave over it, it doesn’t come back.

So before you write Florida off, come stand next to a sinkhole that’s been untouched for 170 years. Feel the humidity wrap around you like it’s been waiting. Listen to nothing but water and wind.

That’s the real Florida.

And we’re losing it faster than most people realize.

Just saw an owl chilling on a branch, and wow, are these birds something else! ❤️🥹

They’ve got this mysterious vibe that’s just captivating. I couldn’t help but hit the books (well, Google, really) to learn more about them.

Turns out, owls are basically the ninjas of the bird world.

They can fly without making a sound thanks to their super soft feathers that break up the air flow.

Stealth mode on!

And their eyes? Huge.

They can’t move them like we do, but no biggie—they just swivel their heads around like it’s nothing, up to 270 degrees. Talk about a good party trick.

It’s this kind of adaptability that lets them ace their night shifts, hunting stuff down in the dark.

Besides being cool to watch, owls are also super important for keeping things balanced nature-wise.

They munch on lots of rodents, which helps keep those populations in check.

So, more owls equals fewer pests.

Nature’s got its own pest control squad, and it’s feathered and fierce.

Owls have always been kind of a big deal in stories and myths, too—symbols of wisdom or spooky omens, depending on where you are.

The more I learn about them, the more I get why they’re such stars in folklore.

Every time I learn stuff like this, I’m reminded of how wild and intricate nature is.

Seriously, nature’s designs? They’re next-level awesome. 🦉
