Really pleased to have two new poems appear in the latest issue of The Interpreter's House! Here's an extract from the little blurb I wrote about the writing process:

"As we grow up, childhood memories, stories and poems become entangled with the way our bodies interact with the world...." ✍️

Incredible October weather today. My favourite time of year. Still recovering from the dreaded lurgy though. by @createdtoread

Still really chuffed that my 'Wondering: Poem Under Construction' images were published in @insta.inksweatandtears for National Poetry Day 2026. It's actually the first time I've had something poetic featured on the day itself. by @createdtoread

Not letting the rejections stop me from carrying on writing kind of a day... Still using the notebook I got from @aplacetowrite2 by @createdtoread

A refuge of calm - long shadows and slanting October sunlight in the cemetery. Birds and squirrels going about busy their lives. by @createdtoread

Been hit by a horrid virus, but still have just enough energy to read poetry. Love it when you suddenly remember a poem, look it up, and discover it's even better than you remembered. This one is by Jack Underwood. @jundermilkwood by @createdtoread

Kick-started the poetry writing again @aplacetowrite2 - on an untutored retreat, and I've written about it on my blog (link in bio). It turns out those scribbled notes I have been collecting for the past few months were poems after all! It was lovely, but I spent more time writing than taking photos... Though there are a few clues on my writing topic (time) if you look closely. by @createdtoread

I was nominated for Tutor of the Year in Lifelong Learning at Aberystwyth University! It's so lovely to receive a nomination, even if I didn't actually win. Just one of the bright spots from the past few weeks (which has been difficult, health-wise) along with this visit to the fabulous Stokesay Castle, on my journey up to North Wales. I've been meaning to visit this rather strange place for ages - a sort of gingerbread castle. But it is real! by @createdtoread
