I caught up with an old friend from elementary school who is also now a mom and she mirrored back to me all the critical thoughts I’ve been having about myself as a momma but within her testimony was acceptance. She’s winging it just like I am. Shit, I think we all are. And that convo gave me a little sigh of relief. Cus this journey can feel really lonely sometimes. And I’ve been trying to find a place that feels “like home” for us while also showing them the world. Still searching…

Sooo July started out beautifully and then it progressively got challenging. Lots of highs that got met with some lows. I kept thinking why me? I felt like a failure for getting evicted from our little luxury apartment and then I randomly come across the video in the last slide which affirms that my kids STILL think I’m a bad@$$ mommy no matter what. 🥹 It brought literal tears to my eyes because all I wanna do is give them the world but society does not make it easy. I don’t have much time or capacity these days to post updates but I am SO grateful for the way my community has pulled together and helped me with my fundraiser. I really didn’t think I was even relevant anymore so thank y’all from the bottom of my heart foreal 🤎✨ by @createwithmamajae

All I can say is I feel really blessed to have a team of people around me who see my vision(s) and want to be part of them. I took a risk with this event and Afro Sol will always remember our very first supporters. 🤎🤎🤎‘Gratitude’ doesn’t even really encompass the feeling. I’m still processing it all, but give thanks. 🙏🏾 ✨Where should Brunch n Flow go next?!
