I had the privilege of discovering Ms. Lauryn Hill during my adolescent years, and she has been a constant source of inspiration. Her capacity to effortlessly transition between ethereal melodies and unflinching, raw bars has been a profound influence on my artistic journey. Her impact has been instrumental in shaping me into the artist I am today. From her work with the Fugees to her seminal solo debut album, released in 1998, her remarkable talent continues to be celebrated and appreciated. I am honored to present "The Miseducation of" 24 x 30 by Dee's Creations!🧡🔥 #artista #art #painter #painting #explore #neosoul #rnb #laurynhill #themiseducationoflaurynhill #singer #songwriter by @creations_dees

“The Dream” MLK - I painted this portrait right in the place MLK called home, Atlanta. It is also like a second home to me. As I painted this portrait I can’t lie I was tired. I stared at the pencil sketch for hours because I was afraid of messing it up. But I didn’t give up hope. I made sure to incorporate vibrant colors to describe the amount of immense emotions Dr. King could’ve felt. This one man had a vision, a dream of basic rights for an entire race, generation, and world. One man. When I painted this painting I couldn’t help but feel a piece of what he felt. Most importantly Dr.King had courage and is the forefront and father of the civil rights movement. We are in the city where historical protest and bus boycotts have taken place. Alabama is the heart of the civil rights movement. From the Voting Rights Act of 1965 , the March on Selma “Bloody Sunday”, sit ins, being sprayed with militia fire hoses and dog attacks all because we wanted to be treated equally. What he fought so diligently for is under attack till this day. I thank Dr.King and our ancestors for their courage for their dream now I’m allowed to follow my dreams to be able to stand in front of you today just to present my art.

My favorite quotes of Dr. MLK would be “faith is taking a step even when you cannot see the staircase.” Another would be “if you cannot fly run, if you cannot run walk, if you cannot walk crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” #art #artist #MLK #courage #atl #Alabama by @creations_dees
