Ladybug nature study.

Here's what we did:
- We started the morning by painting rocks from our garden to turn them into ladybugs. I used acrylic paint, but the boys preferred acrylic markers.
- While the boys had lunch, I quickly set up a Flisat table with all the activities.
- First, the boys used silicone tweezers to pick up ladybug spots from the playdough.
- Then we talked about a ladybug's life cycle. Max was really interested in why they lay eggs underneath the leaf instead of on top of it.
- Next, Max matched DIY ladybug pairs, and Charlie matched rock ladybugs with numbers.
- In the end, they both created their sensory ladybugs.

Welcome to our spooky Halloween café!

The menu is full of creepy creations, from spider-infested jelly cubes and monster eyeball treats to glowing pumpkin potions and mysterious witch’s brews!

Word detectives!

A hands-on phonics invitation to explore simple words through play.

We are matching picture cards to words, finding the letters we need, and using playdough to build each word on magnetic tiles.

A simple setup encouraging letter recognition, phonics, CVC word building, and early reading skills—all through playful, hands-on learning.

Hello Autumn 🍂🍁

An autumn-inspired invitation to play.

We’ve been exploring the colours, textures and treasures of autumn through playdough, natural loose parts and woodland-inspired resources.

Rolling, pressing, stamping, squishing and creating little animal tracks makes this such a lovely fine-motor activity, while also opening up conversations about the changing seasons and the natural world.

I love how simple materials can create so many opportunities for little hands to explore and learn.
