Our first block of free community art classes is starting next month! 🖌️🎨 We've invited a different local artist each week to lead the sessions and share a new creative activity with us.

Make time to be creative, meet your neighbours and try something new!

You can drop us an email to register or just drop in to the studio. 814 Garscube Rd, G20 7ET.

Thanks to everyone who has bought a "wonky pot" from our @railyardglasgow stall this year or made a donation. We're so excited to be able to offer these classes for free, including all the materials, whilst still making sure all the facilitators are being paid fairly for their time ✨

Thanks to @ambii.studio for the poster!

**NEW OPEN STUDIO**
Saturdays in October
10am - 12pm

We've been thinking of ways to make pottery more accessible and will be launching new Open Studio Sessions in October.

These sessions cost much less than a class and are also priced on a sliding scale for income. The sessions are un-taught and you'll be expected to work independently but there will be an experienced potter on hand to offer help and support.

Perfect for anyone who's been to a wheel class and just needs the space to practice now. Or for confident crafters that want access to tools and equipment and are happy to learn from one of our project books.

Bookings are open now

Here’s a sneak peak of some of the exciting things that have been happening at the SiMY Grassroots Garden over the last few weeks!

The hard work and creativity of the young people at SiMY, our staff, and the amazing artists and partners we’ve been working with, is really paying off with the installation of multiple murals and our new welcome arch! If you’ve not had a look yet why not pop down to Lister st in Townhead and see what we’ve been up to?

Huge huge thanks to @boomerangwoodworking for their amazing woodworking skills, to @caireenstuart_ the stained glass artist who supported the making of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh mural, and @creativeblocglasgow who helped us create the handmade tile mural.

And of course a big thank you to the funders who make this work possible in the first place @creativescots @YLSGrants @tnlcommunityfund @therobertsontrust

More info about each project and the finished results to follow so make sure you’re following us for updates.

Upcoming class!

Surface Decoration: transfers & print

This is an intermediate class for anyone who has been practicing pottery for a short while and wants to start exploring decoration techniques beyond glazing. In this workshop we'll be exploring different ways of introducing print to your ceramic pieces.
