The news today showed that @teddysphotos has dropped @macklemore from his shows because he was told he couldn’t play in certain venues if he kept him on as Macklemore was using his platform to speak up against the ongoing atrocities happening to Palestinians.

There’s also footage of the @cfda CEO & president manhandling @peta protestors at the @cosstores fashion show.

Ed Sheeran claims he’s neutral about what’s going on in the world and hasn’t once spoken up on the issue of Palestine. It’s clear he’s put profit above morals especially in this case.

While we’re not huge fans of @peta either who’ve been asked to speak up/help on the many animals who are suffering/died under the Israeli onslaught, they have kept staunchly silent, but to be treated the way they were at the @cosstores AW26 show, is quite appalling.

However, there are some amazing decent people out there who have used their platforms on and offline to speak up consistently about the injustices going on in the world. One such person that we wanted to highlight is @paula.plesko

We had the opportunity to get to know Paula through her online advocacy for human rights and couldn’t be more pleased to know her. You want someone like Paula in the fight because she’s fearless and ready to say what’s needed to be said.

Unbiased, generous, kind, feisty are just a few of her qualities. Most importantly, she gives hope that a better world is possible because good, decent people like her exist.

Congratulations to @pavitacooper on being appointed Chair of the @britishfashioncouncil

Coming from a Punjabi background and following the Sikh faith, Pavita is known as a champion of diversity, equality and inclusion. She’s worked in various sectors and served on several boards bringing change as required.

Loyle Carner, Rapper

Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner — stage name Loyle Carner - was born in London to a white, British mother and a Black, Guyanese. With his father largely absent, Carner and his brother were raised by his mother and stepdad in south Croydon.

Loyle started his music career at a young age following his stepfather’s sudden and heartbreaking death. Loyle released his debut album “Yesterday’s Gone” in 2017 which went on to be Mercury nominated.

Going on to release three more albums to date, “Not Waving But Drowning”, “Hugo” and “Hopefully”, his music reflects his personal story as well as larger societal issues with honesty and emotion.

“What you’re doing in music is looking at how you want to push the world in some way forward,” he says. “You want to offer some sort of support or solace to people. But you can only do that for your own experience. I can’t tell other people how to live their lives. I can just say, ‘This is what I’m seeing. And you’ve probably seen something similar, this is how it affected me,’ and this is what I’m hoping to do going forward.”

Diagnosed with ADHD, Loyle runs cookery school, “Chilli Con Carner” for children with ADHD.

He also actively supports the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) which aims to prevent male suicide.

Cannot not mention @diljitdosanjh who absolutely put Punjab on the map after his latest appearance on the @fallontonight show. He’s won a whole new group of fans and it was really heartwarming to see everyone positively reacting to his set even if they weren’t of Indian or Punjabi origin.

Diljit has been steadfast in his work over the years, not only as a singer but as an actor too.

His films have range and substance and in particular his biopic on Jaswant Singh Kalra. The film was heavily censored in India and the publicity was deliberately muted. It is an important story to know and if you can, please do take the time to watch the film and better still, read about Jaswant Singh Kalra.

What: I’m primarily a fashion designer and maker. I’m professionally taught by my tailor Father from childhood to 18 when I went to art school for 2 years then to fashion school for another 2 years.

Why: I love my work. The people that I meet and work alongside - they’re people that I’ve followed for years and seen their work documented for years. I still get blown away.
