Looking back now, there have been so many times I wish someone would have urged me to give it another try. An audition, A grant, A special opportunity. I would work myself up so hard and when it didn’t work out, i would just forget about it like a lost cause. Sooo if something you made sucked, or you didn’t “make the cut” or a mistake was made and it didn’t happen for you… This is your friendly reminder from your internet Creative Guide ✨ For gosh sakes, if whatever you did, made you feel like throwing up a bit, had hairs standing on your arms, And LIT YOUR SOUL ON FIRE. 📣TRY IT AGAIN. Dear Creative Soul- {Mom/Parent Edition} I never knew exactly what it meant before I became a mom when people would say, they don’t have any time. And oh boy, now, I know. Skipped showers. Unbrushed hair. Old makeup. Last min outfits. You don’t recognize who you’ve become. It’s everything and anything for them..before you. And then it’s time to clean, cook and provide allll the snacks. So yes I understand now. Yes, personal creative/passion projects have been put on hold, Pushed aside. (I have reallllly good podcast episodes I recorded 2 years ago 🤯 that I still want to release). And instead of just saying, ok, That’s enough. Not my time right now. You feel like being called to go in a direction most people don’t understand. I’m here to back you up on that. Cause, me too. I’m here to tell you, Don’t ignore it. That idea, That whisper. And Instead, be patient, be open to changing how you want things done. Accept timelines to be blurry. And that feeling- hold on to it. Only you had the idea. So you are the unique soul on this entire planet to do it. My children are my top priority but I understand that I’m feeling called to create and build this personal brand more so because of them. Becoming a mom isn’t telling me no, It’s actually reminding me YES. If you feel this, join me while I figure this out in the wee hours of the morning. ^*^ Thanks friend for joining me here. The most AMAZING feeling EVER. Seeing your ideas come to life… When I was a little girl, my dad always told me a story, how, during world war 2 they escaped to the jungle. My grandma alone with 8 kids, while my grandpa was at war. She had to do regular counts to make sure they were all there. One time she started panicking because she thought one child was missing, only to have my dad’s brother yell out-“Mom, she’s there. She’s in your arms”. Last time I went to the Philippines in 2019, I recreated this scene. Wrote/directed/edited. Immortalizing the story that probably many shared, celebrating the strength of my Lola. Filmmaking is one of my creative outlets and honestly I love it because it’s a culmination of so many moving parts.
