I want to be honest 👇

I've always known I wasn't meant to be a corporate girlie!
It's not all rainbows and sunshine. Building something from nothing learning as you go is hard. Something you may not know about me is that I have an incurable health problem that leaves me not being able to move in pain or completely wiped out from fatigue.

Today has been one of those days, and because I am stubborn, I push myself further than I should.
I get frustrated that my body can not keep up with my determination.

This small biz life is really teaching me to know my limitations and to sit with them rather than being upset. I can't say I am there yet, but what I do know is that we weren’t made to run on caffeine, self comparison, and burnout.

Taking life slower isn’t lazy.
It’s the best way of looking after ourselves, so we can show up better in all areas of our lives for ourselves and for everyone we love.

Life gets so much better I promise.

I've been in the darkness and crawled out the other side. Felt loss that physically hurt. Built and grown a business to realise it wasn't my purpose.

All of it with Rob and the boys by my side holding my hand when I thought I was destined to be alone.

Here I am, about to get married. A recovering people pleaser, who isn't hiding who she is anymore. I'm the one that's going to help you find who you want to be too! 🫶

I’ve never used oil pastels before…
so naturally, I decided I had to finish a whole piece with them. 😝

Welcome back to Sketching my way home..
my little experiment in finding my way back to my own art practice.

This time, I wanted to do something I’d normally avoid be a beginner, make a mess and not give up halfway through.

I honestly had no idea what I was doing.

The colours felt crazy.
My hands were covered in pastel.
Nothing was looking quite how I imagined it would.
Usually, this is the point where I’d decide I don't like it and move on.

But I kept going.
Eventually… I finished it.

Seeing the finished piece felt really good but honestly?
The best part was letting myself explore without needing it to be perfect.

This is something I really want to explore more especially for small business owners who feel like they’ve lost touch with their creative side.

No safety net of black outlines or an ipad. 😱

Recently I have been really trying to push myself back into traditional mediums.
I have been so inspired by @lillieemariie and her gorgeous makeup. I did a sketch awhile ago and to make sure I finished it today I kept it quick, soft and colourful.

After a conversation with Laura @thebarleymoon we decided we are going to stop putting it off and just dive in while we feel inspired. Laura found some old art work and is ready to start something new building from the images she already has. Connection with like minded souls really is the best medicine and you never know what adventures can start from just having a conversation. ✨️

The clouds create a patchwork blanket between the trees. You have never taken this path before but it feels so familiar. You see a door, with the most beautiful padlock. Surely that old key you found won't unlock it?
