I tell people all the time they don’t need a website. A web designer talking people out of a website?!

There is a time for a website, and you will know when that time comes.

Especially when you are first starting out, getting all your branding and website ducks in a row is not necessary.

1. It can be a distraction to focus on these things right up front ~ put your energy into mapping out a product, offer, and marketing strategy instead.
2. It’s very likely your business will pivot and get refined early on ~ quickly making your website you just spent so much time and money on, obsolete.

These days, there are so many different tools, the key is to get creative and find the right tool(s) for your particular needs. It may not be a website right out the gate.

With that said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with WANTING a website. *Just because you want one* is a totally valid reason to make one. Even if you don’t absolutely need it right away.

It can be a way you commit to what you’re doing, or get clarity, or feel professional. It’s also a convenient way to have all your info in one easy place.

I haven’t had a website since 2019. A web designer without a website sounds a little silly but it has worked out fine. (The app company who made the theme I was using stopped updating and it broke my site ~ I just never built a new one.) Until now.

I recently got a wild hair and decided to start designing myself a website! I knew it was time because I want all the sevices I offer to live in one place. This process of creating my website has been very illuminating and clarifying in how everything I do weaves together.

The collage I made during the “Make Your Own Oracle Card” class I taught today.

I asked “what is there to know about these classes I’m offering”

I’ve been playing with the concept of the creative spark 🎇 a lot lately so this theme of “the power of light” resonated so deeply.

We are light beings, creativity is the flow of light from the divine, through the body, and out into expression! This movement through expression frees up so much ~ space, energy, possibility.

This little creation feels like a warm, nourishing meal sitting in my belly, reminding me of who I am and what I’m offering.

A simple bit of art making holds potent reminders of who and what we are: earth vessels filled with divine expression. by @creativelyawakened

In these classes, we are going on a journey into ourselves.

We may find…
a nugget of truth
an awareness or a-ha
an understanding of a pattern
an answer to a question
the integration of a lost part
catharsis or stress release
confirmation…

The art making is just the vehicle to reach a spot. In a similar way to breathwork, meditation, journaling etc

So much is possible through the act of being creative ~ it’s a mysterious journey of SURPRISE and DELIGHT!

Real talk: I find it hard to get myself to actually DO the practices that I know make me feel good. Can you relate?

The practices that make me feel light, expanded, released.
The ones that keep me open to the parade of all that life wants to give me and the gifts I have to give.

I’ll get on a streak and be committed to it for a while ~ but eventually I fall off the train and forget these practices exist.

I start to feel crunchy, sad, dull.
I start to pathologize this stagnant state ~ calling it stress or anxiety or depression.

But really, it’s just my underutilized creative SPARK.

And when I start to activate it again,
it is LIFE! GIVING!

It’s a process to get it going again.
At first, I’ll realize I feel super disconnected from myself and start to wonder where I went.

I’ll take stock and notice I’ve been all work and pressure and no play.

Then I just think about it for a few days (or even weeks).
(I have a very active and distracting mind.)

Then I’ll wake up one day and say to myself MARA, JUST DO SOMETHING ~ LITERALLY ANYTHING WILL DO!!!!!!!

And then I’ll finally sit down and make some art.
And every time, it’s as if it’s the very first time I’ve ever made art!
I remember how MAGNIFICENT it feels to be CREATIVE!

I feel so deeply connected to myself and the special and unique current of expression that runs through ME!

I feel in love with myself and life through seeing my inner world held up in front of me in the form of this ART BABY I just birthed.

I remember me: I feel INVINCIBLE ~ reminded of what I was put here on earth to do, and how I want to be doing it.

How’s your creative spark these days?

Are you feeding it regularly?

If you are or aren’t, come make some art with us! by @creativelyawakened

What do you know
What are you remembering
What truths want to find you
What do you want to encode into your being
What are you working with

I started making oracle cards to remember.
To remember the truths and downloads
To encode every cell of my being with the gorgeous remembrances I was having

The ego is wiley.
It will make you forget those blissfully resonant a-has
It will tell you lies about yourself and life
Making you believe you are somehow not the most magnificent being in the universe deserving of every last delicious dream you can conjure

I used oracle cards to fill the space where I didn’t trust my own knowing.

I started to MAKE oracle cards to honor MY CHANNEL, the wisdom that comes through MY CONNECTION with source, and the path I am walking.

Make oracle cards to map, integrate, and alchemize your journey through life so you can remember:
The initiations, the highs, the lows, everything in between.

Make oracle cards to ignite and nourish your sacred creative SPARK ~ dance in the vital life force swirling through you!

Make oracle cards to PLAY ~ in your creativity and self expression.

These cards become a touchpoint, a reminder for wherever you are in the process.

I am the Oracle.
My art is the documentation.

YOU, too, are the Oracle.
Anchor your connection to god/source/spirit in yourself through yourself

Through your art
Through your writing

JOIN ME for an upcoming ‘Make Your Own Oracle Cards’ class (Oct 30 + Nov 4). Let these classes be a balm for your soul during these tender times. An opportunity to land all the way inside yourself and feel your creative expression amidst all the external chaos.

We’ll be using collage to make our cards ~ these classes are for all levels! No prior experience needed.

Do you love that experience of pulling an Oracle or Tarot card and it saying the exact, perfect thing you need to hear?

Have you been curious about making your very own Oracle Deck?

Let your Art be the Oracle by learning the magical and sacred act of creating your own oracle cards.

Through this intuitive art process, we let go of any specific “end result” and allow the divine to speak through our heart and hands. During class, you’ll learn the process of creating oracle cards. You will complete one card and message filled with meaningful, powerful art and words to guide this current moment in your life.

Students continuously find themselves surprised and delighted by the unexpected masterpieces and guidance they are able to channel.

No prior art or channeling experience needed. Just a willingness and curiosity to explore.

This is an online zoom class and live translation will be provided. Upon signing up, you’ll receive a digital download with the materials list and zoom link. If you’re unable to make the live class, you will be sent the recording after class.
