Download ![Presenting The Hasan Raheem
— whom I discovered only last year (call me white-washed) but immediately got hooked on his music. I mean it's Obvious, favourite song.
The tenderness, the yearning, the absolute vulnerability in the lyrics.
Juxtaposed with the reality of our cruel and selfish world, he asks his beloved to come and wipe his tears away, to not hold their favours against against him.
These two lines describe love to be so pure and innocent; like two little kids sharing their toys because they haven't made room for anything else in their hearts.
جاکے کس کو لگوں میں گلے اب
سونا سونا لگے یہ زمانہ
Whose embrace do I go to now?
The world seems barren.
This I feel is the deeply seated call at the hearts of everyone in this era of widespread individualism and subscription-based communities.
So, it meant more than just a media pass privilege to get the opportunity to photograph his concert. Fav Pak artist turned muse on stage ♥️✨️
__
In the autograph I got from him, he writes, "a psychologist swims but a poet dives".
In a world where we intellectualize our emotions with the help of therapy speak instead of feeling them/ living them or sitting with them, this is all the more relevant.
Feel your emotions, process them.
Stop running from them. Heal from the pandemic of "avoidant-attachment" style we're in.
