Black woman, I’m on day 1 of 95 on a concentrated wellness and creative sabbatical. This is my slow start to a lifetime of rest, faith, wellness, and radical authenticity. I’m exploring, engaging, and leaning hard and radically to a well life with rest as a vehicle. This morning, I ironed my boys’ clothes by candlelight, wrote 2 poems, edited and submitted my final paper, and started my 1st collage journal! #Wellness #FaithHopeLove #CreativeSabbatical #slowdown #healinginprogress by @creativesabbatical

Exodus 31:1-11 inspired us to lead an artistic worship that centered the SWEET FRAGRANCE of GOD! We made our own room/body sprays, ate good, testified, prayed, laughed and made memories together. This is what a COMMUNITY OF HOPE @cohsda SMELLS like! #creativesabbatical #essentialoils #sweetholyspirit #creativity #art by @creativesabbatical

Next week this time I’ll have been commissioned as the Creative Arts Pastor at Church at the Well by Senior Pastor Rev. Jimeka Jones Setzer, MDiv. I’m walking with my SOUL FIRST directly into this new journey with curiosity, exploration, reverence, discernment, God’s anointing, and creativity! Jehovah-Bara (The Lord Creator), I’m listening, watching, and willing to follow as you lead.

MORNING DEVOTION today, included coloring & It took longer than I anticipated to get the right shade of brown for her hair and skin. But the extended time was needed. Provided time to just be, quiet, reflective, experimental, and decisive. Thanks to @cocomicheleillustrations we spent time resting and reflecting! #creativesabbatical #creativity #create #Art #coloring by @creativesabbatical

God’s miracles are also found in the art we make! Each time we resist being consumed by the destruction all around us, it’s a miracle!!! Thanks @creativesabbatical for helping us to experience God’s miracles through artistic expression rooted in PSALM 23. #churchatthewelldc #creativearts #mindbodyspirit #wellnesspastor #dcchurch taken in Washington D.
