The Cost of Living has got me by the poropeke and I can’t wait to vote, so my cupboards can be full again and I can make an actual cake, with eggs, butter, oil and petrol👀

There are many reasons why you should vote, but for me there’s only one overarching kaupapa that’s influencing my vote this election, COST OF LIVING!

Anyone that hasn’t enrolled, get enrolled! It’s one way to have some of your own proverbial cake but I’m happy to share mine in the meantime!

30 Days Off Social Media🚫

Without realising I had developed a relationship with my phone that had become toxic. Whether creating content or consuming it, it wasnt healthy.

So i took a 30 day raahui from social media.

This isnt like i went off grid and now lead a self-sufficient lifestyle 🤣

But i needed it to create space. Enough space to think, reflect, learn, and reconnect with people and things that actually matter.

Like my kids, and maybe equally as important, myself.

If youre thinking about doing something similar, heres 5 things i took with me that made sense:
📚A book to read
✍️A journal
📖An everyrhing book
💦A water bottle
🌱An open mind

Sounds simple, but these things helped me replace doomscrolling with intention.

Some were old habits I picked back up, some were new and refreshing reminders of whats real and whats optics.

30 days later and i realised how much presence with self and others can significantly improve your life and relationships. That not everything needs to be shared to be valuable.

Not everything needs a post.
Your presence is more than enough🙏🏽

As a unionist I must make it clear that TPU are not a REAL union who organise for the interest of people - but I think this much is clear to many of us now.

Is this an opportunity for kaiako to talk to students about vested interests, monied lobbying and corruption or just straight up risky and completely inappropriate? by @creativetaro
