I wanted to capture that feeling of pure suspension: the heavy atmosphere of a Nigerian shop with a phone scammer checking an account, the anxiety of a kid holding a black bag, and the tension of a night sliced open by cold neon lights. That fear that makes you hesitate, until curiosity takes over: unzipping it to find not danger, but a tracksuit. A garment that changes everything. When he puts it on and walks toward his people, he isn’t just getting dressed: he’s performing a ritual. He’s saying, “Look at me, now I belong to you too.” Why merge fashion and culture? Because for us, fashion has never been just about clothes. It’s armor. We grew up hungry, learning on our own how to make our first money just to afford that dream pair of Jordans. When these kids move together wearing these pieces, that street payback turns into pure elegance: they are claiming their place in the world before saying a single word. This work is a visceral tribute to where we come from: the culture of the diaspora, the flavors of home-cooked food, the silent codes of the street, and the brotherhood that protects you when you’re on your own. Clothing becomes the language through which we reclaim our spaces, transforming the margins into a cinematic work of art.
