Back in the very early aughts Palisades Toys nearly released what was gonna be the first ever Gene Roddenberry figure along with a James Kirk and command chair. It was a boxed set for the 35th Anniversary (are we really at 60 now?) and to make it special I had some original art commissioned for the packaging from the artist Matt Busch. Once we scanned all the art and the project was over Palisades President Mike Horn had all the art mounted in a gorgeous frame. It’s an awesome piece. If you love OG Trek. I do.Nacelle is gonna do a Gene Roddenberry in their new line…which is really cool btw. I can’t afford to collect the figs but damn I really like their line. I’ve got most of the DST figures and what they’re doing slides in to that collection seamlessly and in lots of ways looks superior.#startrekart #palisadestoys #generoddenberry #captainkirk #startrek by @creatusmaximus

Ok, so I finally jumped back into the Electric Mayhem poster I started a while back. There were some issues with what I’d already done…I had the thing set at a lower res (since it’s a larger image) hence requiring more memory than my older ipad can handle. So I had to break it into sections, rebuild some stuff and increase the dpi in order to be able to make a large print at 300 dpi. A week or so ago I showed a version of the factory model for the Muppets Rowlf figure that was included in the Palisades Muppets Backstage Playset. I mentioned other samples that also got beefed in the interpretation…and this is one of them. At this point in the process I just wanted to go back to what we had and so another factory model had to be made. It was a very frustrating development for that figure.
