Memorial Ride 2025 “Riding with Angels”

Moments become memories. The greatest become legends.
And legends never let a name be forgotten.

Uncle Matt was a true legend and in my eyes, one of the most badass men I knew. He could outride the sun and still slow down for a stranger. He taught me to live fast, fearless, and full of heart. Never taking a moment for granted. And more importantly, he taught me that being a badass wasn’t just about the loudest exhaust, the fastest bike, or the highest wheelie. It was about loving hard, giving freely, and living life your own damn way.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to ride. You meant the world to him and I have no doubt he is smiling from above.

To the members and advisors: Thank you for making this year unforgettable. Every chapter visit, every event, every quiet moment and every late-night slice of pizza with the ushers, that’s what gave this year its soul. You were the heart behind every mile, every memory, every moment of growth. I only hope I remained true to the person you believed I could be. If I made even half the impact on you that you’ve had on me, then I’ve lived a dream greater than I ever imagined. If the title faded and everything else slipped away, but I still had what I found in you, then I’d walk away with everything that truly matters.

To those who came before: Thank you for every word, and for never wavering in your support. You never doubted us, never spoke against us, and certainly never stood in our way. We’ll always remember that. You taught us to lead without applause, to trust without certainty, and to stand even when no one clapped. And sometimes, the quiet things like a line, a lyric, a song carry more than words ever could.

To those who supported us unwaveringly, through it all, and until the end, thank you.

I am a Mortal Man, shaped by time and destined to fade, as all things do. But in the memories we leave and the legacy we build, we find our only chance at something eternal.

As I reflect upon the time I have spent in the blue corduroy jacket leading up to this point, my heart is filled with gratitude to those who have supported me along this journey.

To the Decorah FFA Chapter: Thank you for always teaching me new ways to serve and lead, and allowing me to always be genuine and honest.

To Ms. Bruvold: You gave me freedom to explore FFA and inspired me to dive deeper into something that has become a passion of mine, and for that I am forever grateful.

To Blake: You have taught me what it means to be a true leader, and have always been the most supportive and helpful mentor I could ask for.

To my Northeast District Teammates: This past year was one of the best years of my life, and you all played a large part in that. I wouldn’t be here today without the support, encouragement, and compassion from every single one of you.

To Iowa FFA: Thank you for this opportunity to serve the amazing state of Iowa. I cannot wait to get started on this next chapter with all of you. I am honored with the privilege of being in a position to serve a group of incredible individuals. As I embark on this journey, I will strive to keep an open mind, serve with unwavering dedication, and understand that even the smallest act of kindness can spark positive change.

19 Games, 11 Weeks, and 1 Goal.
Thank you Decorah Soccer. For the countless memories, life lessons, and teammates turned family.
Although this season ended sooner than we would have liked, I wouldn’t change a thing. There is no better group I would wanna play with, for the not only this season, but every season leading up to this.🫶
