i’m not quite sure how to start this. i’m heartbroken. i knew this day was coming for a while but this all happened so quickly. cookie was my best friend from the very moment i encountered her beautiful, only 2-month-old soul when i was 9 years old. she intimidated me a little at first, dogs (especially puppies) were not very familiar to me as a young child, but i grew to love her and we made so many fond memories. i’m going to miss her silly personality, her sweet face, her “boba” eyes or “chocolate chip” eyes as my mom and i called them, cuddling with her, bribing her with treats (and telling her not to tell daddy :p), hugging, kissing, and petting her, crying into her mushy belly when i was sad, i’m going to miss all of it. she was such a great companion and everyone who ever met her loved her and knew what a good girl she was. thank you, cook, for giving me the best 12 years of my life. no dog could ever compare to you. i’m so glad our whole family and i got to be there for her last moments and that she passed peacefully. i know she left this earth knowing how loved she was. but a piece of my heart feels missing without her, even though i know she’s no longer in pain. i’ll keep you forever in my memory, cookie mocha. have fun and be happy trotting along the rainbow bridge. you have plenty of company. ‘till we meet again baby girl. i love you so much 🤍🐾
