Currently planning my own 2027 wedding so I say this with full solidarity: watching the budget climb is TERRIFYING.

Here's what I tell my clients and myself — the money isn't the problem, the plan-less spending is. A concept gives every dollar a job instead of a hundred little things canceling each other out.

Unpopular opinion from someone who goes to a LOT of weddings: I'd take the speeches over the dances every time.

A good speech lives in my head for years. A bad speech is elite group-chat content. Either way I'm LOCKED IN. The dances? Beautiful, I'm tearing up, and then I'm whispering to my table neighbor about the bread.

Keep the speeches. Trim the dances. I said what I said.

Planning your wedding backwards is so common it's basically a tradition at this point. Vendors first, vision never.

Flip it: design first, then plan. My $39 guidebook is the starting point I wish someone had handed me before I talked to a single vendor.
